This book is lavishly illustrated with true works of art, used to describe the uniforms of the French Imperial guard cavalry during the first Napoleonic empire. The color and scope of the uniforms make them certainly as colorful as the troops were themselves. This is an excellent reference work and should be a part of any Napoleonic student's library.
