I've had so many ideas about what a sponge holder should be for my counter, and this one is actually the best, correct solution. It is glazed ceramic, so it cleans easily. This is much better than porous stoneware, which absorbs stains and colors and becomes disgusting. With this holder, water drips from sponges and pads and evaporates from the surface. It is green, not a color to match the kitchen, but to match my scotchbrite scouring sponges - perfect! It is sized to hold a scouring pad and a sponge. I have become very accustomed to having one of these cup style sponge holders sitting by our kitchen sink. They are very convenient, and in the case of this ceramic holder from Ryfog, very nice looking. I ordered it to replace a very similar sponge holder that is made from Diatomaceous Earth. After just 6 months the D. E. sponge holder looks as though it has been there for 60 years. It is discolored, badly stained, and you just can't clean that stuff no matter what they tell you. Yes, you can sand the stains out, but they quickly return. I am sure this beautiful and well-made ceramic holder is going solve that problem. It is a quality piece and looks great on our countertop. If you like this style of sponge holder, then this is the one to get. It is a good size and perfect for our favorite scrubby/sponge. The best part... This Ryfog Sponge Holder for Kitchen Sink Countertop is a very nice quality ceramic item. The glazing is beautiful. The colors are subtle and elegant. I think it looks great in my white/neutral kitchen. It is about three inches tall and a little over three inches in diameter. It is heavy and will stay in place when you tuck your sponge into it. I like the versatility of this sponge holder and I especially appreciate that it is dishwasher safe. The glazed white color blends well with our decor so it looks nice at the sink. I mostly use this to store our rectangular dish scrubber sponge. Our thicker dish scrubber sponge does not fit into the slot but can still be held in this sponge holder (see photos). This holder keeps them both elevated so they can air dry without setting in any liquids that have dripped from them. The holder is made of ceramic, pretty heavy, making it less likely to slide around on the kitchen counter or fall down into the sink. And it's good looking and very functional. Some of the reviewer mentioned that the gap or slot for holding sponge was too big and couldn't be bridged by their sponge. I didn't see such a problem.
