Look, if you're thinking about trying the Srixon Z-STAR, just do it. These balls are legit. The feel is what sold me. They're soft when you hit them, but they still launch off the clubface nicely. The real magic happens on approach shots and around the green. The spin control is insane! You can really trust these things to grab the green and stop dead near the pin. Goodbye, dreaded roll-out. I’ve been loyal to the Pro V1 for many years. I decided to give this a try with the massive amounts of technology going into balls these days. For me, what’s notable about the Z-Star, is that I gain about 10-15 yards off the tee, but lose roughly 5-10 yards with my irons. It’s nearly the opposite with the Pro V1. Not as much spin as I’d like, but it isn’t a terrible ball. I’d say it’s definitely worth trying versus your gamer to see what you get out of it. Srixon did a great job with the feel and texture of the actual ball. Pretty decent around the greens, however a bit firm off the face for pitches and chips. Read more
