Terrific clock at a great price. It was a replacement for a clock I bought from Hammacher Schlemmer for $90 and as near as I can tell, it's the exact same clock except for the picture representing the time of day, an unnecessary addition, in my view. Too small the see from the other side of the room and the words morning, afternoon, etc convey the same information much better. What makes this clock terrific is its VERY LARGE numbers - which you can read from across the room, even with your glasses OFF - and the fact that it includes the DAY, TIME of day - morning etc - plus the Month, Date and Year. if you fall asleep in your recliner and you are disoriented when you wake up it will let you know if it's morning and you slept through the night or just later in the evening of the same day. I have it next to my desk and it is SO handy when I am writing letters or checks and need to know the date. I found it a little tricky to set - it doesn't know about daylight saving time - but other than that, worked right out of the box. Read more

Very helpful and easy to read This clock is very clear and easy to read, especially for seniors. The large display showing the day, date, and time helps avoid confusion. Simple to set up and works great. Highly recommended. Read more

We recently bought this clock for a dear friend now in rehab, where she will be for several weeks. She loved it. The bare rehab wall that she sees from her bed 24/7 now has a great clock featuring the day, date, time and even the time of day (morning, afternoon or evening), with a meaningful icon depicting the latter (rising sun for morning and so on ). We had thought about getting her a large wall calendar, as she is 80 years old recovering from a broken foot and understandably finds it hard to remember what day or date it is at times, but how does a stationary calendar really help a person in such cases? One can stare at a calendar and still not know what date or day it is, much less the time. A readable, real-time clock displaying the date, day and even time of day (and one that even "remembers" all info should the clock need to be moved and plugged in elsewhere) is far more useful. The price on this clock -- with tax about $32.00 -- was very reasonable. It has various other features (the ability to set alarms for taking medications, e.g.), but the clock display alone is invaluable. There is no battery; it operates totally on AC. Once plugged in, one goes to the menu and sets various parameters (language, e.g.). It has several display options, but two of them are really nice: 1) Black letters against a white backdrop with time-of-day icon; and 2) White letters against a black backdrop with time-of-day icon. These two are especially high-contrast, info-packed and easy-to-read from a distance. (Black letters on a white backdrop offered a cheerier display, in our opinion, but we all agreed that white letters on the black backdrop provided greater contrast and readability, so we set the clock at this display, which is the one in the advertisement.) Can set it on a table via a pullout, wedge-type stand (easel back) on the back of the clock. Else, one can hang the clock on the wall. Very happy with this purchase on behalf of our friend. Would highly recommend it, especially to seniors. Read more

This calendar clock is great. Can be seen across a room. Love having the date, day and period of the day you're in. Helps keep older citizens centered and more aware. Bought my first one for an elderly cousin. She and her friends loved it. Many of whom requested product information and acquired a unit for themselves. Just bought 1 for myself. Great when you need a little help with diminishing eyesight. I highly recommend it. Read more

Bought for my father in law who is struggling to know dates and remember the days of the week and it worked perfectly for him! He can wake up and clearly read which day of the week it is and know the time and the month. The letters are a really good size and it sits perfectly on his nightstand. Definitely get if your loved one is struggling to remember the days of the week. Read more

I waited some time to give an honest review. I purchased this for my elderly mother who has dementia. I like how it displays the time and date clearly and bright. We just plugged it in and the date and time appeared. We debated whether to hang it on the wall or leave it at her bedside. The weight of it is just right that it doesnt easily tip over or slide off when she uses her nightstand to get up from bed. I like the quality of it, sturdy, easy to read, and dims automatically at night. We did have a power outage, and when the power returned the time was accurate, so this was good to know. It looks very stylish in her room. All in all, it is good for the money and does what needs to be done. We do not use the alarm Read more

This SSYA digital calendar clock is designed for elderly users and individuals with dementia or memory challenges. The display clearly shows the day of the week and date, which is helpful for daily orientation. The screen appears larger in product photos, but the actual display matches the listed dimensions. The unit feels lightweight and somewhat basic in build, however it was very easy to set up and has been working as expected since being plugged in. While not premium in appearance, it performs its intended function reliably. Read more
