This STANLEY FatMax battery charger is a solid, versatile little unit. The ability to handle both 6-volt and 12-volt batteries makes it useful for more than just modern cars. It does exactly what it’s supposed to do. The 2-amp charge rate is right for maintaining batteries or bringing one back slowly without cooking it. The indicators are clear, and the reverse connection warning is a nice safety touch. One thing I really like is the reach. The combined cord and clamp length is about 12 feet, which is noticeably longer than some of the leading brands. That makes it easier to use in a garage without constantly rearranging things. It’s not fancy, but it’s reliable and flexible. If you want a charger that covers multiple battery types and is easy to work with, this one earns its keep... easy five stars. Read more

STANLEY FatMax BC2F Battery Charger and Maintainer: 2 Amp, Dual Voltage (6 and 12), Wet Gel AGM This charger is replacing the at least 45-year-old monster of a 12V charger that was handed down to me. I like the size and simplicity of this charger. Most of the functionality is something I don't have to worry about except ensure the switch is on the correct voltage. Quality and durable of build looks and feels good. I really like the 12ft length of the cord. I will not need an extension cord for most of my use. Price point of $34.65 is reasonable, at least for me. Read more

I’m using the maintainer on my car that often sits in the garage for weeks to even months at a time, and it’s worked great so far. This product does exactly what I needed it to do to maintain my vehicle when it’s parked long-term, and I’ve been pleased with its performance. One of the standout features is how compact it is. It doesn’t take up much space at all in my garage, which is perfect since space is limited. It’s easy to store and pull out when I need it without it being a clutter issue. It also feels durable and won't break being in a garage environment. Based on how it’s held up and how convenient it’s been to use and store, I’m very happy with this purchase and would recommend it to anyone who needs something effective for their car that doesn’t take up a lot of room. This charger/maintainer is awesome - But what else could we expect from Stanley! As advertised it will work with both 6 and 12 volt vehicle batteries - It will charge and maintain your battery - In my instance the maintain function is what I needed - As I drive one vehicle very little during winter months I had to jump start it lots of times - No longer now that I run this!! This comes with battery clips and also rings (should you need those) - Cable reach wise you have about 10 to 12 feet when hooked up. The unit is VERY simple to use and due to safety features seems very safe - Very nice unit and a nice price point. Read more

The STANLEY FatMax BC2F battery charger is a dependable solution for maintaining 6V and 12V lead-acid batteries in motorcycles, lawn equipment, or seasonal vehicles. It’s user-friendly, with clearly labeled controls and a compact design that’s easy to store or mount in a garage. The dual-voltage capability adds flexibility, and the inclusion of both battery clamps and ring terminals allows for quick connection to different types of batteries. With a combined reach of about 12 feet, the cord and clamps provide enough length for most standard garage setups without needing to rearrange equipment. This charger delivers a 2-amp output, which is ideal for maintaining battery charge rather than performing quick charges or reviving deeply discharged batteries. For long-term care and keeping infrequently used batteries ready, it performs reliably and efficiently. The reverse polarity indicator is a helpful safety feature that reduces the risk of incorrect connections. Build quality feels solid and durable for a charger in this category. Overall, the BC2F is a great choice for users who need a straightforward, low-amp battery maintainer. It offers reliable performance for everyday maintenance needs and is especially useful for those with multiple small vehicles or seasonal equipment that require regular upkeep. Read more

I have too many batteries to maintain during winter, and this one is a nice addition to the fleet already in use. It's Stanley, so it is built well and durable. It's very simple to use and gets the job done. I've only used it on 12V but the batteries I have connected to it are doing fine so far. Great product for the money. I may need a few more... Read more

I dinged this a star just for lack of information in the description and instruction manual. How does it maintain? What voltages and how many states does it charge at? What are the cycles and thresholds for activation? I plugged this in on two batteries (in parallel) on my trailer and they went from 12.5 to 13.4 volts overnight. It was still charging (light blinking) at 14v. That's in the range of a float charge I think. Very simple interface: one switch (6/12v), red light for fault, green light that blinks or is solid. Seems well constructed and sealed. Runs warm without a load on it, so you might want to leave it unplugged if not using. As an experiment I plugged it into a deadish (4v) car battery. Every couple of seconds the voltage would change, varying from 6v to 12v. So there does seem to be some sort of smart charging going on. I did change the ring connector cord to a cigarette lighter plug--adding one of these to the kit would be an improvement...generally cigarette lighters are on pretty heavy gauge wires (I ran the one for my trailer with 14g. You can see this setup in the pictures). You'd really want to know the max current this thing draws though, to be on the safe side. I have mine appropriately fused. Also in the picture the hook&loop cord wraps and bag for the battery clip connectors are mine. These would be nice additions too. Read more
