I had a Gen 1 before this and it was my favorite mouse. I had to replace it because after years, the finish is starting to peel off under where my thumb rests and it became a sensory nightmare. I am extremely happy to find that this Gen 2 not only has a new finish, but also comes with a braided cord. For the price, this mouse is great quality. It's lightweight and just the perfect fit for my hand (size Large gloves). Functionality seems good, works just like my Gen 1 did. Only other change I've noticed so far is a brighter, more expansive underside RGB light. Read more

Works great! Need to download the application to customize the light color/settings but super user friendly. Pairs well with their keyboard for a seamless look. Great quality and brightness to the light. The cord doesn't add any drag weight. Read more

My mouse wheel broke on my last steel series and I bought this to replace it. I absolutely love it and the mouse sensitivity that it has the presets for is perfect for me and my gaming. And the size fits my hand perfectly as well. Read more

This is my favorite wireless mouse. I have used gen 1 for years and handed them out. They work really well in USB dongle mode and are good mice even in bluetooth. The bluetooth mode is great when people lose the dongle, and makes the mouse still useful. gen2 seems to be more efficient on battery otherwise, it is hard to tell a difference. Read more

Great mouse at a great price. Wish it was chargeable but super light even with 2 batteries, glides very well and looks sick. Read more

Not a mouse for large hands, despite its visual appearance. It's very light weight, which isn't always a good thing. I'd prefer something a little heavier. Besides the small size, the paracord isn't a rubber cable wrapped in paracord, the wires are inside of the paracord, which is a mod some people started doing years ago. It's fine I guess. The "GG" software can apparently be turned off after you are satisfied with your profile which is saved to the mouse; it doesn't need to run all the time. However, the "GG" software itself has become a monstrosity of privacy invasive functionality. This is the primary reason for my 1 star rating. The old SteelSeries Engine isn't compatible with this mouse as it was released later. By default, screen and game capture, game auto-detection (scanning your computer for installed software), microphone recording, etc is all turned on by default. It also encourages you to create an online GG account, (which you can skip at the time of this review). Auto Run when Windows boots up is also turned on. I'd recommend you use a Virtual Machine with USB pass-through (Windows Sandbox can't do it) to install the software and configure the mouse. Either that or disconnect from the internet before installing it. This is just unacceptable and disgusting behavior by an increasing number of companies all looking to cash in on YOUR DATA. Children use these products. Reason I purchased this to begin with: I've owned the original Rival, Rival 300, and Rival 310, which has just now begun to fail on me. The mouse wheel skips and the middle mouse button double-clicks. I've tried most of the solutions and am quite familiar with how to repair mice and how the components work. Honestly I'm tired of taking mice apart to deal with the same issues that have plagued every plastic mouse since laser mice were invented. New Omron switches, feet, etc can quickly add up in cost due to markup prices unless you want to buy bulk switches. This replacement is a major disappointment. SteelSeries no longer produces the 310 so that wasn't an option. If you like this mouse, I recommend purchasing a dozen of them, because functionally perfect models of product tend to go away after a couple of years of production. They are at least still making the Apex line of keyboards. I packed this mouse up to keep it as an emergency spare, but I can't use something this small. Read more

I know this is a gaming mouse but I use it for work. I am an ecommerce entrepreneur and content creator and I think it is an amazing mouse. It is fast, smooth, and I love the customizability on the SteelSeries software. I used to be a gamer which is how I knew about this mouse, and so when my last one broke (I had a Gen 1 before) I figured why not just try the new one since Amazon lets me return it if I don't like it anyway. Well I have been using it for a few weeks now and I love it!!!!! I don't really see how a mouse could be any better for the price. Highly recommend! Even if its not for gaming! Read more
