Less than a week and it’s toast, replacement lasted a few months and started cooling down

This would be an ok product if it worked. While it worked is was decent, a little noisy and seemed to draw more current than the 700w rating. I got it for smaller boards because my 1000w air gun had the lights flickering. I had the cheap 40$ 700w ones that do fine and don’t affect the wiring at all so I figured this one wouldn’t bother the lights either but it did. Beware….. the tips are coated with something that take a minute to burn off and should not be inhaled. That’s fine, just take notice Anyways 2 days in and I’d hear an occasional crackle or something, not really a crackle, closer to a click. I assumed it was a relay or some switch in there so I paid no attention. And then I had this little resistor on a board that just didn’t want to heat up, even with regular leaded solder. So I cranked it up but was at a lower air setting so I wouldn’t blow the part off the board then I heard that click and I notice the scope image was getting darker. I looked up and notice the gun was coating the board with some dark soot from inside the gun. Needless to say this gun was either defective or can be set to an unsafe setting. I think it’s the latter. I wouldn’t take it above 430 on a slower setting and never above 450. Why they allow it seems reckless. Honestly I think you can get a quieter, better performing device at 40$ even when this thing was working. You’re paying for a few extra tips, and 3 save settings and a heavier base. What better wiring is hopefully in the base seems to be traded off by the gun design. Update. Replacement lasted a few months then started cooling down. Calibration doesn’t help, heat seems to pulse now. So maybe 20% of the time it’s around the set heat. Can’t use it anymore Read more

YIKES!!! BEWARE!!!

Richard ButzinJuly 21, 2022

My company bought us a couple of these after our old ones died out. The heat up time is really good. The fan inside the handle is a little weak for some applications. The nozzles don't work very well as they are to long causing you to have to crank the heat up. Even with low temp solder its just a pain sometimes. This is just more hobby crap from China. The nozzles are very hard to get in and out of the wand. Very hard. And the little stand they sit in has to tight of a clamp on them so they are hard as hell to get the nozzle in them to aid in removal. But for what we have been using the unit it for it did work just fine. But now stick with me here this is the biggest problem of all. After using one of the units today, the wand was placed into the holder to let it start its cool down. After smelling some burning, I looked up and the wand was on FIRE. Completely melted it!!! DO NOT BUY THIS UNIT!!! Read more
