Sure, you can get a pull-on ski hat that looks like this at a dollar store...but it WON'T be nearly this nice! I tried in on the minute it arrived. WOW, SO THICK and SOFT was my first impression! I could pull it completely down over my ears and forehead. Living in the Northeast, I'll be needing this and loving it in the upcoming January and February blizzards. My wife loved it right away, too. Now SHE wants one! Most months of the year, I wear a baseball cap or British-style cap with a brim, to cover my balding head and keep my wispy white hair from being blown in every direction. But when the really bad winds of winter are upon us, I know I'll be VERY comfortable in this new hat! It has a great stretchy nature that can easily form-fit just about any size head. This hat looks just like it shows in the product page photos. It is a nice, thick, ribbed beanie for cold weather. It's made of synthetic fibers. The listing says 100% rayon, while the label on the actual product says it's 50% rayon, 22% nylon, 28% PBT (which is a type of polyester). The hat is nicely stitched and very soft and comfortable. We got this to add to a box of "grab as you go" hats, so the fact that it can fit an older kid's head but has enough to stretch and fit my huge Dad noggin while staying warm (yet breathable) is great. The little ninja logo is cute. It's currently priced at $12.99, a fair price that falls on the lower end of my $10-$20 sweet spot for a well-made winter beanie for which you aren't overpaying for a big brand name. I took off one star because the listing (at the time of writing) says 100% rayon when it's actually a mix of rayon and two other synthetic fibers. I've knocked off more stars on other products that don't list accurate info, but since all three fabrics are synthetic or semi-synthetic, I only took off one. I recommend this hat! Read more

I walk with my girlfriend as much as possible here in Denver, and I almost never need a head covering other than my hoodie! However, the weather and wind are now to the point I need something to cover my ears. This beanie is ultra-soft to the touchy and it is THICK. It is not one of those beanies with the thin wool which let wind blow through it. It is made out of Rayon which is a synthetic fiber made from wood pulp (good for the environment), is breathable, absorbent and stretchable. What a nice comfortable beanie for the Winter. I find it soft and comfortable. I don't want to take it off. I thought it would be tight, but - no. It stretches to fit my big head. It's 100% rayon, so the sweat wicks through and keeps my head dry. Also notable is the roll-up edge. I can roll it down to cover my ears, too. It washes up just fine and dries fast in the dryer. When I first put this hat on, I was rather surprised at how loose it felt. However, it is tight enough to stay put over the ears, and quite frankly, I get uncomfortable with tighter knit hats, ending up not using them. So, I am very happy with this one. I am a 5'11" male, though, so I could imagine this hat might be too loose for some small women (check other reviews to see if that is an issue). I am impressed by the quality of the knit. The material is soft to the touch (not cheap or scratchy) and also seems durable and warm. I don't really see how you could wear this without folding it, as I think it would be way too long and cover your eyes. But that's fine by me, I prefer the folded look anyway. Read more
