At the Patrick Workshop, seeing is everything. Doesn’t matter if it’s morning, afternoon, or midnight - if you can’t see the teeth on a saw blade or the color band on a resistor, you’re courting disaster. Truth be told, until we installed these UFO lights, we’d limped along with a mix of flat LED panels and a gaggle of moveable task lights. Better than candles, sure, but shadows still lurked in the corners and we were constantly dragging lamps around like stubborn dogs on a leash. But with a screw eye, a chain, and a little elbow grease - in literally minutes the space was transformed. You don’t need to hire an electrician (although we did, because we had other wiring work lined up). These lights are plug-and-play, so an extension cord will do if that’s your speed. 🔗 Pro Tip: Chain Matters Don’t cheap out on the chain. Get welded links. In a busy shop, tall boards and lumber move around like parade floats, and sooner or later one’s going to nudge a light. With solid chain, that UFO will just swing out of the way, casting a bright spotlight on the guilty party instead of dropping down on their noggin. And here’s the kicker - these fixtures are IP65 rated. That means they won’t choke on dust, and they’ll shrug off splashes or damp air. Pair tough chain with shatterproof housings and you’ve got lights built for shop life. 💡 Tech Dive: Lumens, Watts, and Color Temp Each UFO throws 19,500 lumens. That’s about the same brightness as a 400W metal halide, but at only 150 watts these LEDs are sipping juice instead of guzzling it. Add in a 5050K daylight color temperature and suddenly everything looks crisp - wood grain pops, resistor bands are clear, and shadows don’t hide your mistakes. Think of lumens as horsepower: those old flat panels were lawnmower engines, these UFOs are V8s hanging from the rafters. Just aim your peepers at the before (UFOs off) and after (UFOs on) photos below. Mind you, these were taken mid-day, on a sunny day. The difference is like stepping out of a dim garage into bright noon sunshine - and the only thing we changed was flipping a switch. Summary If you’re running a serious shop, gym, or warehouse, these Sunco UFOs deliver pro-grade light with DIY-friendly install. They’re bright, tough, dustproof, and efficient. In our case, they turned a shadowy workspace into a place where seeing is believing. Pros: ✅ 19,500 lumens of daylight-bright light ✅ Energy efficient - replaces old 400W HID with 150W LED ✅ Quick DIY install (hook, chain, or pole mount) ✅ IP65 waterproof and dustproof, shatterproof housing ✅ UL & DLC certified, backed by 7-year warranty Cons: ❌ Heavy-duty chain not included (buy welded link chain yourself) ❌ Overkill for a small space - these are meant for tall ceilings 🏅 Verdict: From limping along in the shadows to basking in daylight - these UFO lights are a shop game-changer. ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ (5 out of 5 stars) Read more

We saw these and immediately thought they would help in our metal works business. Our company has a warehouse with a bridge crane that allows us to move large metal projects from workstation to workstation. The whole building is old and poorly lit. Every workstation has lighting, but these new, 19500 lumen LEDs are like turning on the flood lights after getting by with a flashlight. These lights are amazingly bright, easy to install and have a 30,000-hour lifespan. If you decide to test one, be careful because they get hot quick. The aluminum frame helps dissipate heat and provides a sturdy case to protect the LEDs from bumps and drops but once they heat up, they get too hot to handle. The manufacturer recommends installing these lights from 15 to 30 feet high. This height is necessary to allow the light to spread out. If you don't, you may find it's too bright to work under comfortably. We initially hung it about eight feet off the table, but the glare was way too much. After raising it to about eighteen feet, it was almost perfect. These lights output at a 110-degree angle, meaning the higher they are the more ground they'll cover. Most screw-in LED flood lights will produce somewhere between seven hundred and fifteen hundred lumens of light. These 19500 lumen LED arrays are about 12 time brighter. That's a lot of light coming from such a small package. These LEDs produce a Crisp White light almost like being outside. It's down-right impressive to turn this light on and see how clear and bright everything becomes. All of our employees agreed, these lights make their jobs easier and safer. These lights draw 150 watts and come with a standard 110-volt plug. The do not have to be wired into your electrical system. They also have a heavy eyelet to hang it from on the backside. All you need is a piece of chain and something to hang it on. We hung ours using a chain and drop-cord to run down the wall and plug it in. We have a forklift that we used to reach the ceiling and hang the lights. Each light only took about a half hour. We're planning to have an electrician come in and install some new receptacles wired to a wall switch. These lights are almost like night and day between off and on but unfortunately, you can't see it in the pictures because the camera compensates for the difference in the amount of light. These lights come with an IP65 dust/water rating. This means they are designed to withstand permeation of small dust particles and water jets such as spray from a hose. They are not submersible. They should be perfectly suitable for use outside under a shelter. For the amount of light produced, these lights are very efficient. The have a seven-year warranty and an expected lifespan of 30,000 hours. You should see about ten years of service from these lights using them eight hours a day. We have been very satisfied with these lights and intend to use them where we can. Five Stars! Read more
