The product looks well made and arrived timely. Would buy again. Making the repair was a bit of a challenge, however, perhaps due to the age of the compressor hose. The hose is a 1/4" outside diameter but the inside diameter is about 1/8". Also, the hose (coil type) is rather stiff and not very pliable. I used a commercial heat gun to soften the hose but was not able to fully insert the fitting into the hose. On one attempt, the hose got too soft and I created a hole which leaked badly. Cut that end off and tried again. Was finally able to insert the fitting about 3/4 of the way into the softened hose before it lost pliability. Applied the proved clamp and was satisfied that the repair did not leak. So, there is a 'magical' point in the heating process that may take a few tries to master. Get the hose soft enough to accept the fitting but not so much that it collapses when the fitting is inserted. For my best attempt, I drilled a hole into a 2x4 slightly larger than the hose. This created a 'collar' of sorts to keep the softened hose for twisting when inserting the fitting. Read more

This product should work well for anyone eating a 3/8 in barbs push on connector to a 3/8 in threaded connector In my case unfortunately I needed a quarter inch threaded so it didn't work in my purposes however it seems very well made out of brass material and it came with thread sealant already applied which is a nice touch. Details matter - This product works I know hose barb to npt fitting sounds like a really small thing, but these actually fit well and seal well. I have a small commercial farm - equipment and connections need to work or we can't operate - so details matter. With the Sungator kit, I didn't have to work about wrong thread size, finding Teflon tape, hose clamps with worm gears that don't hold - this kit works and holds a tight seal.
