I have not had any issues with leaking or items cooling too quickly; although, if you stack above the liner, you might run into issues (you might run into issues closing it at that point, though). I love the hardy snap closure, and how it expands to accommodate odd filling structures. The back pocket is nice for tucking a paper towel or hankie and a cutlery set.
