Very bright & great coverage, even with a lower ceiling. They do put out a bit of heat but nothing major, just don't touch them. Only ended up installing 6 rather than the 8, those were enough. Will use the remaining two as special lighting over some work benches. Read more

Although the light supports dimming (untested) it has the unusual feature of a three position switch that controls wattage. It is hidden behind a circular plug. Remove the plug with a wide, thin tool to reveal the three switch. Measured wattage is about 82w, 114w and 151w. Even at the lowest setting the LONGLUX throws plenty of light, but, not the advertised 200w. I am using LED high bay UFO lights to replace huge, energy sucking metal halide high bays (30 lb. 350w) a few at a time as the older lights wear out. Because LEDs are more directional and the light cone sharper edged, it takes more of them than the metal halides to cover an area without dark shadows. How high they are hung matters too as the light cone is wider the higher the light is hung. The ceiling in my workshop has exposed trusses and I hang light at 10' (100 - 150w), 12' (150- 200w), and 15' (200 - 250w). With enough of them my shop is lit up like Walmart. I often work after dark and need plenty of light. I don't look up often as these LED lights will blind you. The light seems well constructed and I like the ring connector rather than a hook. Because I use a mixture of dimmable and non-dimmable lights I don't use a dimmer and didn't test it. The electrical cord seems serviceable and the machining a little better than most. The switch isn't easy to use so it's not likely to be used for variable intensity. Still, it's a versatile light and well enough constructed that I can recommend it. I have to ding it one star because it is advertised as a 200w light and its output doesn't confirm that. Read more

These high bay, LED lights are the going thing right now if you're upgrading your lighting or needing to install new lighting in a newly built structure. I have a boathouse, a garage and a shop and I have been wanting to upgrade the old fluorescent lighting in them all because they are starting to age and everyone knows how temperamental fluorescents are, especially in cold weather! These high bay, LED lights are the perfect answer to my needs and pretty much any need requiring, bright, efficient lighting. The light is so easy to install, ANYONE can do it. Just screw in the supplied eyebolt to the light housing, and you can then install it to a chain, hook or whatever you have to hang it from the ceiling or other location. The light comes wired with a standard, three-prong power cord (about 4' long) which plugs into a normal 110V receptacle. The light is rated from 100V to 277V so keep that in mind should you need to go above the normal 110V power source, you have that option. Also note, the fixture DOES NOT have any type of switch to turn it on or off, you'll need to plug it into a receptacle which is controlled by a separate on-off switch or electrical breaker switch. The way these lights are designed, they light up a larger area the higher they are mounted. Of course, there is a limit to how high they can be mounted to effectively light up a given area but as long as it is a reasonable height, the lights will work very well. Keep in mind this type of LED light does tend to give off quite a bit of heat so be cautious how close you locate it to anything that might be adversely affected by heat. It doesn't get terribly hot but it does get hot enough that you cannot hold a hand on it for very long. While these types of lights work great in larger types of facilities, they are also good for smaller ones as well such as garages, workshops, greenhouses, etc. Being LED lights, they should be efficient for the amount of light they provide and in smaller structures, it won't take as many to provide ample lighting for your needs. If you're creative, you can also use this as a portable light source to be used such as a work light, camping light, under a porch overhang, etc. Because it plugs into a regular 110V receptacle, you can use an extension cord to virtually use it anywhere you have electrical power! I highly recommend this light whether you're upgrading or installing new lights. It is virtually maintenance-free, VERY bright, works well and the ease of installation makes it very versatile. You're going to love it! Read more
