While the mat is fairly thick and seems like it will hold up for some time, it disappoints somewhat. You can see from the photo that impressions are created while in use that cause me to not be able to easily roll with my chair. Although it will protect the carpet, I will probably end up putting another form of support under this like think chipboard or something to keep deformation from occurring. It does bounce back overnight to original form, but is easily warped while in use. Also, after 2 weeks, there is still a very strong smell. In hindsight, I should have opted for something more heavy duty even though my carpet is standard pile. For reference, I am 180 lb. Read more

I didn't like the narrow box it came in. the mat is made of pvc and rolled into a 4X4" size to fit in the narrow box. Directions are inside the rolled up mat. It was very hard to unroll the mat, very stiff. I was only able to unroll about 10-12". I put weight on both corners hoping it would soften up over night. Next day I used hair dryer to soften it enough to eventually get it unrolled. I placed heavy objects on it trying to flatten it out. Today is the third or fourth day and still won't lay completely flat which makes my chair hard to roll. In my opinion it should come in flat box! When it says wear gloves, please do. My carpet mat was delivered today. It is 1/8 inch thick as advertised. But the plastic is too soft. VERY SOFT. I was making indentations just by stepping on it. When I put a chair on it and sat down, the indentations made by the wheels were even deeper. The wheels sank into the plastic. It’s now more difficult for me to move my chair around on the mat than it was on the bare carpet. In a previous job years ago, we all had carpet mats in the office. But the plastic was thicker and much harder, durable, heavy-duty. They were too hard to roll up, they came in a flat sheet. I guess they don’t make them like they used to. Read more
