I bought two
I originally bought this for my travel bag. My previous travel clock required reaching over and pressing the snooze bar to light it up in the dark. I'm lazier than that at 3:00am, but I didn't want something garish lighting up the room, so I looked for something with adjustable brightness. I chose the green numerals for the same reason. There were other clocks available that had these features, but this one just looked handsome. So after narrowing down my choices with the necessary features, the decision was based on aesthetics - which isn't such a bad idea for something that you are going to deliberately look at several times a day. I like being able to turn up the brightness during the day if I choose, but hotel rooms tend to be dark and the lowest setting seems to work fine day and night. The buttons to set the time and alarm are not necessarily intuitive and I usually have to refer to the instructions (which I keep in the travel bag with the clock). I pop the batteries out if I'm not going to travel for a while. In my den it had become impractical trying to see a non-lit analog clock if the lights were turned down. I liked the travel clock well enough to buy a second one for the den. (I like my travel bag to be grab-and-go, so I don't take anything out, thus the second clock.) Because it sits on a bookshelf, there is no cord having to be plugged in. I do not regret either purchase. Read more
