This Tilley T5 is my fifth Tilley hat. I've long been a big fan of Tilley hats. This Tilley is my first that is not an Airflo model. I love the medium brim that wears so well in many environs throughout the year. Mine arrived from Amazon in a flat package but the hat popped up into shape immeditely and perfectly despite the packaging. This is thanks to the great design of the hat which uses a thin wire around the brim which keeps it's shape forever. I like to keep a fedora-like pinch in the crown on my Tilleys and this new T5 takes and holds the pinch especially well. It is a excellent quality hat and a joy to own and wear. Read more
This is the hat that started it for me. I was enamored with the styling of this hat and how it looked on others. But when I was ready to purchase, it wasn't available and I settled for the LTM6 Airflow. The LTM6 is a good hat in itself, but the broad brim is a little too broad for me. I still longed for the T5. Once on sale, it was a no brainer. I love the sun protection and the sturdy construction from the cotton duck fabric. You cannot go wrong with a 4-inch tall crown and a medium brim. There is an Ultralight version if you prefer, but that's like buying a square headlight jeep. Read more

I got my first Tilley Hat when I was overseas in Africa with the Army. I traded my UN beret for one (Canadian Officer) and I fell in love with them. When I got home, I picked one up at a local sporting goods store and then found myself with 3 of them, all the T3 model. Well, here I am, buying a T5 model because I wanted one to wear when I go out shopping with my wife and the T3 has a very wide brim and the T5 is narrower on the side. I love these hats and they last a long, long, long time. I still have my first one from Africa and I got it in 1993. Still going strong. Highly recommended. BTW, they have a lifetime warranty and you just send it what is left and they will replace it, no questions asked. Read more
The hat is great, as all Tillys are. However, I ordered a 7 1/2 but a 7 3/8th came. Unfortunately this was a gift and they say it fits. I hope it gets used but I fear they are just being kind. Happy with the product but not the service. Read more
