Review item: Magnetic iPad Pillow Stand with Snack Bowl for Bed [Include 2 Metal Ring], Lap Pillow Stand for Tablet Kindle iPad iPhone Steam Deck, iPad Pillow Holder Soft Plush Fabric, Cosmic Orange Price at time of review: $45.99 I have used a foam pillow shaped to be a device stand, and I've used device stands with articulated arms. This stand combines the two ideas, for a device stand that's comfortable enough to keep on your lap or stomach while having the flexibility to adjust your device's height and angle for the best viewing experience, whether you are sitting, lying down, or anything in between. To rate this, I primarily considered two questions: how comfortable is the pillow, and how versatile is the articulated arm? The pillow is donut shaped with a hole in the middle, with two plastic pieces join together to hold the bowl in the middle. The pillow is medium firmness - when I squeeze from the edges of the donut, I can just make out the edges of the bowl. In practice, even holding a heavier device, you won't feel the bowl on your lap or belly. When I use it sitting down, my thighs naturally slope down, so I rest one hand with my fingers in the bowl. There's no need to grip - the position feels natural and even with my hand there, I just feel the pillow. The fabric is like a soft fleece, nice to touch, with no scratchiness. My wife, who has co-opted this from me, thinks the orange is pretty ugly - but she's still using it. The arm, which comes in the box unattached, is easy to slide on and remove (there are two release buttons on the attachment point that let you slide it off). While it is mostly plastic, the hinges are tight. It takes a little force to start moving them, but it's not too hard to adjust their angles. The arm has two pieces with three articulation points. One part is attached to the base on the bowl with a hinge that rotates forward and back. The second is hidden in the middle and can be slid up (there's a knob that facilitates this) to extend the height and has another forward / back hinge. Finally, there's a ball-jointed head, which allows additional adjustments to the viewing angle of the magsafe head. One thing to note - I had assumed this would be a 17mm ball-joint, which is the de facto standard for these kinds of stands. It turns out to be a little larger than 17mm. That meant when my wife, who doesn't have a magsafe device, wanted to use it, I had to find a clamp type head that would work with a slightly larger ball head. There's another version of this exact pillow stand that has a clamp type instead of magsafe. The bowl can be removed to facilitate cleaning of it and the pillow. There's a knob on the bottom that connects the two halves of it. I found it easy to assemble and disassemble. This one also comes with two magsafe rings that you can put on your devices (my wife didn't want that). There's also two sizes of hex wrenches included, as well as a small instruction booklet. I didn't read the instructions, and I didn't see anywhere readily apparent to use the wrenches. Finally, the price - at the time of this review, it was on the higher end of the range for device stands with similar form factors, but the range was about $10 from cheapest to most expensive. I feel pretty good about this one because the quality is good. Read more

Trying to keep a baby entertained while also getting anything done is an Olympic sport. My little one is crawling everywhere these days, and keeping her occupied for 10 minutes so I can do anything is a victory. This weird little pillow is now part of my toolkit. I originally bought it for reading my tablet in bed (and it's great for that—super soft, the arm adjusts to any angle). But it's found a way more important job. I'll put my phone or tablet in the clamp, pull up some baby sensory videos and prop this thing up on the floor. The pillow base is so soft and flat that there's nothing hard for her to bump into if she scoots over to it. The "snack bowl" part is actually perfect for holding the battery bank and raspberry pi powering the tablet. It’s also great for tummy time if I want to prop a book up in front of her. And because it's basically a squishy pillow, I don't worry about it being a hazard. When she's napping, I take it back for its intended use. It's a little quirky looking, but for a house with a mobile baby, it's become one of my most-used things. It’s the best thing I’ve bought that wasn’t technically a baby product. I wish the arm extended a bit higher, though. Read more

I would have not thought I could love a pillow, but I think I do. So fuzzy, so soft, so very orange! I have a MagSafe case for my phone (android), the stand holds that very securely, you have to fight it a little to make it give your phone back ;-). I used the larger of the 2 included magnetic rings on my iPad (13inch) and it also holds that securely. There are a ton of positions and the bits tighten really well to keep even my heavy iPad in position (both portrait and landscape) with correct angle. The (removable) bowl is a cute touch for snax, or your earbuds, post-its, pens and other annotating supplies or little things you want to keep track of. The arm is also removable- it slide/snaps into place very securely. I do wish they had included a second set of those little wet/dry wipes for cleaning the device prior to attaching the magnet ring...since they do give you 2 mag rings (for non-magsafe devices), but they are easy to find and not that expensive. The rings are one thin- for light items; phones, e-readers and one thicker for heavy devices; tablets, ipads. Love it so much. Read more

I was skeptical that I needed the XAOVUIR Magnetic iPad Pillow Stand with Snack Bowl for Bed [Include 2 Metal Ring], Lap Pillow Stand for Tablet Kindle iPad iPhone Steam Deck, iPad Pillow Holder Soft Plush Fabric, Cosmic Orange, but I am surprised at how much I like it. I definitely wouldn't put my snacks directly into the bowl, because even though you can remove the pillow for cleaning, sterilizing then plastic bowl insert seems like it would be a nightmare. I have small ramekin-style plastic bowls, and they fit into the bowl insert nicely. I found the written instructions that were included in the box confusing, but then remembered there were detailed instructional videos on the listing page, and just referred to them instead. All in all, this is great for lounging on the couch or in bed and using your device, and I'm surprised at how much I like it. Read more

This iPad pillow stand with snack bowl was a hit with my 13-year-old. When I first pulled it out of the box she was a little dubious about what I was doing and putting together. But once I snapped her phone to the magnetic connector, she was SOLD and immediately ran off to her room to watch a movie. I put one of the magnetic rings on her iPad, as well. She had been wanting a TV for her room, but with this to hold her iPad in bed, along with the snack bowl that she quickly wiped out and filled with treats, she has stopped asking for one. The pillow itself is soft and can be used as a stand-alone type head rest on a plane or car ride, should you want to use it that way. I wish it were available in pink, as my daughter is more into pink, but the orange is good 'everyone' color. Read more
