Insulated Well, Indestructible, Lifetime of Use

I was pleasantly surprised as this Tactiko insulated bottle is bigger than anticipated. 304 stainless steel is excellent for food service and you get the noncorrosive benefit as well as virtually unbreakable. This will be a bottle you can pass down to your kids. The cap had a rough feeling and made a grinding sound the first half dozen or so times I cycled it on/off tightly. After several opens/closes that went away so I attribute it to a break in as the grooves settled in. I thought I’d test for maintaining hot water temperature. I didn’t feel like heating water so I just used hot tap water. It went in at 114 degrees. After one, two, three, four, five, & six hours respectively here are the numbers starting at original fill of 114. 112.5, 111, 109.6, 108.1, 106.7, 105.6 and about 12 hours later it was still 99.7. So, it lost about 1.5 degrees per hour. Conditions were ideal as it was indoors about 72 degrees. Most people drink coffee, tea, etc., at about 140 degrees give or take, and a good coffee maker brews at about 185-195. Hence, if you put a hot pour directly in, I’d imagine it will drop a bit more than 1.5 degrees per hour. But, judging by my test 12 hours wouldn’t be a problem to keep it at a comfortable drinking temperature. Having a curious nature, if I decide to dedicate more time testing, I’ll start at the temperature that comes right out of a fresh brewed pot of coffee and will update review. The only concern I’d have with this bottle is the silicone gasket in the cap. It might last forever, but, in the event it wears out, can I get a replacement? It’s really the only potential component on this bottle that could wear out/fail. I wouldn’t want to replace the entire bottle over a simple gasket. They do include a clean-out sponge type brush which is helpful for clean out. I see they do have a website with contact information so that’s a big plus. And they make other survival type equipment/gear, hence this isn’t their first rodeo it seems. It’s a solid product, and for generational longevity, a great price. Read more

Solidly built for everyday casual use

This product seems to be marketed as outdoor/ survival-adjacent gear, but im not exactly sure where this fits in my lineup in that regard. It's just over 16oz dry, to hold 1L of water/ fluid... that's way too heavy for day hiking, let alone through hiking. For camping, weight isn't as big of an issue, but there are cheaper and more convenient ways to port/ store much more water. Same with bugging out. Maybe for bringing coffee for short excursions where you might get roughed up a little, or drop something out of a tree stand? This is a nice design for everyday use, however. It is solidly built. I like that there is no plastic, just stainless steel and a seal. The steel loop is sturdy. The lid feels hollow (probably for insulation), and feels thinner overall. If I had to throw this thing for self defense, or just for fun, the lid is the only thing that may take significant damage. I put boiling hot water in this with a little headspace, sealed it, then shook vigorously... no spray or hiss. Then I left it upside-down for awhile... no leaks. Seal is good. I checked it about 8hrs later, and it wasnt hot... but it was still quite warm. This is now my work coffee carafe. The size, design, and functionality of this lends itself perfectly for this task. More than a bottle, and not just tacticool

This is one of those “survival” bottles that actually makes sense. As a water bottle, it does its job — holds water, doesn’t leak, and feels solid. I’m not worried about it getting knocked around in a car or backpack. The extra survival features are useful without being over-the-top. It doesn’t feel like something made just to look cool on a shelf. The build quality is solid, the functionality is there, and for the price, it feels like a good value. Is this going to save you in the apocalypse? Probably not. But for tossing in a go-bag or keeping in the car just in case, it does what it’s supposed to do — and does it well. Read more

Fairly heavy duty, keeps liquids at desired temperature well. Nice brushed finish.

As a thermos this insulated bottle works pretty good. It's also made with thick enough stainless steel to be fairly heavy duty and should take normal wear and tear just fine. It's not very heavy but it isn't what I'd call light either, a trade off for being heavy duty enough to survive some abuse is that it adds some weight. The top screws on easily and the silicon gasket seals great. The loop carry handle is very sturdy and folds out of the way nicely. At 34oz. this is a rather large water bottle, roughly about 3.5 inches x 12.5 inches. The 'mouth' of the bottle is large enough to easily fill it yet small enough to easily drink directly from the bottle and the internal threads make drinking right from the bottle more comfortable as well. The brushed finish looks good but it also makes the bottle easier to grip so it's not slippery even when wet, which I really like. An odd little bottle cleaning sponge was included. It's not much, just a cheaply made, two piece snap together handle with a sponge attached but if you don't have a bottle brush it will work for cleaning the bottle. Though it is almost too short, being just 1/2 an inch longer than the inside bottle depth, it will work in a pinch. On the whole I like this insulated water bottle. Nice finish, easy to grip, holds quite a bit and is easy to pack. Considering the quality you get in return for your investment I believe this bottle is a good value and I'm very satisfied with it.
