I absolutely love this denim vest by Tankaneo in the color Navy. Vests are having their moment right now and I’m here for it. Truth be told, I’ve always enjoyed a vest to finish off my outfit. Whether worn as a layering piece or alone, there’s something that just sets a Vest Fit apart. A bit more stylish, finished and eye catching. Also a great choice if you happen to be between sizes and looking for a little something that conceals while looking more sharp and put together. Tankaneo first came under my radar late last year. I have been happy with my choices from them, and happily found those denim vest to check my boxes for a great fit. I found the vest to fit TTS. While I’m almost always a size small, however there are some occasions depending on the garment where I will decide to go up by one. That said, I chose size Medium for a great, comfortable fit. Not at all oversized with a good amount of stretch for fit. For reference my measurements are 5’ tall (short torso) semi athletic build 34DD/27”W/36”H @ 125lbs. As mentioned, considering my measurements I am glad I went with the Medium. As the buttons are fine and do not gap, which can sometimes be a concern for me and very much bothersome. So would rather size up than find out the hard way. If you’re similar measurements as me and also sometimes struggle. I’ve measured the Vest itself for you and included here. Straight across directly under arm holes 17.5” (comfortably stretched at approximately 19”+) Just lovely, and quite flattering on and likely for many figures - designed to accentuate the waist as it somewhat tapers in or gives the illusion of due to center split hem. I didn’t have very high expectations for this vest, and overall it’s just okay. The fit is a bit off — I’m a true size small, and it feels slightly too big on me. The shape makes it sit awkwardly on my body, so it’s not the most flattering piece. Even if an XS had been available, I’m not sure it would have made much of a difference. I ordered the next size up (to ensure that this wasn't overly tight), and really there was no need for that. Oops. I've always liked wearing vests as a way to somewhat pull my outfits together, so when I saw this offered, I couldn't resist. I think that the "crew"(?) necked vest is currently on-trend, but this is close enough to a classic look and fabric (for me) to be able to continue wearing it after the styles move on. This item looks exactly as pictured in the listing (including the video). The denim is soft and stretchy and definitely has that cotton-rich feel to it that you would expect based on the fiber content. The garment has the required by law labeling. This will work equally well as a vest (worn over a shirt or dress with sleeves) or as a sleeveless shirt--be aware that a small part of your bra may show when viewed from the side (at the lower aspect of the armhole) when you raise your arm. The princess-seaming and that open upside-down "v" shape in the front are flattering for multiple body types. This is properly done princess seaming, and not that weird thing where there are seams in the proper general location that do not actually put any shaping into the piece. The vest is well made. It has a tape facing covering the neck seam all the way around. The stitching is even and done neatly/in straight lines. I appreciate the extra touches: the metal jeans-style buttons, and the fact that it has real, USABLE pockets, which is sadly unusual to find in women's clothing. This is such a darling vest! The denim is a nice, medium weight, and the buttons are exactly the right size — not too big or too tight for the buttonholes. If you've ever struggled with oversized buttons or stiff buttonholes on a vest or jacket, you’ll appreciate how perfectly these are designed. The vest is very well made, and the pockets on either side are surprisingly roomy for a fitted style. They add both function and a nice visual detail. The only issue I had was a personal one — the fit across the bust was a bit too snug at first. The length, shoulders, and armholes were perfect, but I couldn’t quite button it comfortably. Thankfully, the denim has a bit of stretch. After washing it, I laid it flat (still damp) on top of the washing machine and gently pulled the front of the vest outward to stretch it just a bit. I let it dry overnight, and in the morning, it was a perfect fit! Sometimes that trick works, sometimes it doesn’t — but I was thrilled that it worked beautifully here.
