Put the light in the socket, turned it on, opened Google Home and scanned the bar code sticker in the box. Done. No additional third party apps or accounts needed. It throws a lot of light. I can put two in my ceiling lamp and it feels like the sun. Claims to be a 75 watt equivalent. I'd say it's plenty of light for most things. Can also dim and change both color and color temperature. I told Google to turn my kitchen light blue and it did. Features all work in automation too. At roughly 10 us dollars per bulb, it's a little pricey for a light bulb, but way cheaper than a dimmable smart plug and surprisingly entertaining. Feels like a plastic light bulb in terms of quality. I had zero fear when installing. Seems to be standard in size to the common household light bulb. I can't speak for durability as I just turned it on and off a few times, but it did work, flawlessly with Google Home, out of the box, so it's a winner. 10/10. Will buy again. Read more

Updated Review- Quality Materials, Very Nice and Bright, Good clear colors. I typically buy TP-Link products because they are quality made, integrate well with Alexa, and simply work as designed. I bought these because these are 1100 lumens to replace a different brand 800 lumen smart bulb and these are a great update. My original review complained of random On/Off occurring and a couple weeks of debugging (including contacting Tapo Support). What I found was an ALEXA issue with the "Away Mode" routine that is made to randomly turn items on and off. The "mode" has a checkbox to automatically add new devices to be randomly turned on and off. The kicker is that ALEXA doesn't record the execution of this routine in its tracking so it was hard to find the problem without a recorded trail. It wasn't the lights after all. Read more

Smart multi color/tunable white light bulbs with easy set up. Used the app to install the lights and set the routine best for my house. Have had these types of bulbs for years and have been pleased with them. Have has most bulbs for several years and they have been dependable, good lifespan. The price for these seems to be very reasonable, not much more than a regular bulb. These are also compatible with Alexa and Google. You can use the app to adjust all sorts of settings, most of mine are set on a schedule so I rarely have to issue a voice or app command. Just set them and forget about them. Read more

this works great with my alexa system, the 75 watt bulbs function unlike the 100w hue lightbulbs that did not work on my light fixture (fan/light). Setting up with challenging at first, but that's probably because I did not read directions carefully. Read more

Love this bulb! This product along with the downloaded TP Link app works great! Have this above my kitchen sink and set on a schedule so it goes on at night and off in the morning. House is lit when coming home at night! Amazing how you can set this to multiple colors/brightness/warmth. Simple to install and link to WiFi. Well worth it! Read more

Working very well. A bit of a pain to pair but after that as is good with operation. I do wish I could get find a brighter one but this is the best I can find in a smart bulb. The pic is at 100% daylight brightness. Not happy. Read more

Excellent smart bulbs. Bright, responsive, and easy to set up in the Tapo app. Colors look great and the white light is very bright when needed. Works flawlessly with Alexa and Google Home, and Matter support is a big plus. These are now my go-to smart bulbs. Read more

I wanted dimmable LED lighting in my stairwell, and have had poor results using dimmable LED bulbs with a Tapo smart dimmer switch, so I went with a gang of smart LED bulbs and two of these. Setting the button for basic 'on-off' for a group of bulbs was pretty easy, setting up for the dimmer function was a little more tedious. Once configured, the button works as expected, with maybe <1/4 second delay from pressing the button to the lights actually turning on. The design of the wall plate makes it useless for US households; it's much bigger and bulkier than the wall-plates we're used to, preventing its use with a multi-gang switches. The wall plate has an embedded piece of steel to which the button sticks to magnetically. There is no mechanical fastener for the button at all, it just sticks via magnetic base. Since the wall plate wasn't useful, I adhered a large steel washer to my exiting switch plate and stuck the switch to that. The Smart Button looks and feels very cheaply made (it's not an expensive piece of kit either). If you have a nice house with high-quality switches this will look out-of-place. It's not nearly as robust as an actual UL-listed 'dumb' rotary dimmer switch, so I'm curious how long it will last under normal use. Dimming is visually 'digital' and lacks the instant and smooth fade ramp of a conventional dimmer. Read more
