This is easily the nicest robe I've ever seen. The quality of material is phenomenal and the stitching is so precise and well done I am sure the robe will last a long time. It is silk, so it requires tender use and proper care, but it is also fairly strong quality silk and so should not fray or fall apart like some cheaper items. Overall this robe gives you the impression of a very lavish, wonderfully crafted attire and is also pretty warm. My wife loved the fit and the warmth and found it perfectly sized. She did not like the patterning and wished that it had a simple base color with no pattern or complicated design but tastes will differ. While the price for it is high, you are getting probably the finest quality silk robe that you can find on Amazon. MORE than 10 STARS! This is my third Tara Sartoria Luxury Artisan Silk Robe I’ve gotten in the last 6 months! It’s all in the Momme. 27 Momme mulberry silk is the highest quality as far as silk weight and luxury feel goes. It has more weight than most other brands on the market that run between 16-22 Momme. It has weight but it’s not too heavy. Of course it’s breathable because it’s silk and a natural product. The softness is amazing! Another thing to note is that if the silk is machine washable it’s a higher quality. Seems odd doesn’t it? But it’s a fact. I washed it on gentle and hung it to dry. It’s absolutely PERFECT! It is also completely done with French seams. I have been sewing since I was a very young girl. I’ve sewn silk many times and doing French seams is a MUST with silk. A French seam is a double seam when you sew the first seam it’s the inside fabric is sewn together…next it’s trimmed and then that seam is sewn together like you would making a regular seam. So it’s never going to fray or come apart because it’s a double seam. My favorite part of the robe is the attached belt. Especially when it comes to silk. You don’t have to worry about the sash/belt slipping around or getting all deformed like so many do. I absolutely recommend any of Tara Sortoria products! They are all quality from the fabric to the care of sewing. They make everything in smaller batches to keep the quality consistent. I’m small. 5’2” and the robe goes to my feet but not to tripping length. It’s absolutely beautiful! I’ve gifted this same robe in the midnight blue color for my new daughter in law I was lucky enough to have join our basic family unit. She loves it! There is nothing like the feel of quality silk touching your skin! It also comes in a sweet silk bag and with a small silk scrunchie! Putting on this robe for the first time felt like I was wearing wealth and luxury. This is a top tier highest quality mulberry silk and the best silk robe I have ever owned. It is a work of art on its own. Upon slipping it on for the first time, the silk material actually gave me chills, the good chills and tingles like when you hear an amazing song for the first time. This is a top quality silk robe. I wanted to show the French seams on the inside--the stitching is even and very well done. You should note that the jacquard weave on the fabric does stiffen it a little compared to plain silk robes and pajamas. That's not a flaw or an indicator of lower quality silk--it's just that the extra layers of thread to create the jacquard design make it a noticeably thicker fabric. Although the photo doesn't look like it, I ordered the solid black, and am very pleased with the richness and depth of the color. Fit is appropriate, even a bit longer than most robes, with smaller ties inside and out as well as the main tie that's attached (very handily) to the back so you never lose it. Is it good value for money? That's not for me to decide, since I'm rarely in the market for silk robes and haven't compared with other similar items. But I know it's a lovely robe and I couldn't fault it. Comes in a matching drawstring bag, and with hand written note from the maker. Nice touch! Read more
