This pH reactive stuff is really popular now! I got the "Blackberry" color, which is a clear black liquid. The formula is much thinner and less viscous that I thought it would be, but it actually works well! The applicator has a slim doe-foot tipped wand, allowing you to easily apply just the right amount of the pH reactive formula, which has the consistency of a lightweight oil, or watery lip tint, and leaves lips feeling moisturized and looking amazing! Also, this product has no strong or bitter smell/taste, nor does it tingle or burn! I find that I get the best results from lining my lips first with a cream/gel lip liner, then applying a THIN layer over my lips to fill in with the reactive color, which after several minutes gives the most flattering shade of hot pink for my fair/neutral complexion! UPDATE: I've found that I if I wear this at all, I must use lip liner (but not the peel off kind), because unfortunately it does feather & bleed into the lines around my lips. As such I believe that if you are over 40, this will be an issue for you with this product. As the feathering is a problem for me, I don't wear it as much as I'd like. Therefore, I believe that those who have smoother skin around the lips, would have a much better experience with this product, especially because of it's thin, juice-like consistency. Additionally, unlike the watery lip tints or stains, where the color stays on longer than the shine, this is able to be wiped off quite easily, which is ok if you have to edit, but not so great for longevity. So, for the reasons explained in this update, I have docked 1star off the rating. I love "tarte" makeup & beauty products, as their ingredients & formulations are of such excellent quality, that I feel pampered whenever I use them. Therefore, I very highly recommend this "tarte" maracuja juicy lip & cheek shift, as a worthwhile splurge! I also love that this woman-owned company sources the quality natural ingredients from women-owned & operated community farms, empowering them with cultural & economic sustainability, to make these wonderful vegan & cruelty-free beauty products. Something to Note: No matter which "flavor/color" you choose for this 'maracuja juicy shift', they are all the same, and is only for show & preference. The formula for this product has the same base ingredients across each of the color options, except for the coloring ingredients, themselves. The results achieved from applying this product to your skin (lips/cheeks), is based on the pH reactive ingredients & your personal body chemistry causing a reaction, and not because of the color of the liquid in the container. This lip gloss is really neat. It seemed to take about 5 minutes to do the complete color shift. On me, it was a bright pink color- not too wild about the super bright pink- but I loved the way my lips felt and looked. It honestly looked like my lips were plumper with this lip gloss on. Basically to me it looked like my lips regressed in age about 20 years. They were plump and smooth and not so thin as they are now. I am planning on trying some lip stain with this to see if I can stain my lips BEFORE using the color shift lip gloss if I can get a better color. Really this is some good lip gloss, I'm just not crazy about the final color that happened with my pH. Read more

This is an amazing product. It is a little tube with a brush. It doesn't look like a lot of product but a little goes a very long way! It goes on clear but develops quickly into a pink shade. It has a kind of slightly sticky texture but all you do is dot it on your cheek (start with one or two dots) and then rub it in with your fingers or a brush. You will not be able to see exactly where you are putting it as the liquid is clear (at least my shade was). But in seconds it develops into a light pink. On lips, I would suggest doing the same thing. A dot on your lower lip and then spread it out. It seemed to develop more slowly on my lips and it lasted for many hours. I put it on my cheeks and lips and went out to a meeting, ate dinner, and it looked like I had just applied it. Read more
