Great little gizmo
We used this for the first time last night and it worked great. The ice cream had a very smooth soft-serve texture...even the dog enjoyed her tablespoonful. I put the leftover ice cream in a plastic container with a snug lid and put it in the freezer. This afternoon it is a little harder, but not too much. The texture is still very smooth and the ice cream is very tasty. It reminds me of the homemade ice cream that we used to make in the old hand-crank wooden ice cream churn. My grandfather would put a folded towel on the top of the churn, one of us kids would sit on it to hold it down because the hook was broken, then he would crank and crank and crank. We would always pick fresh blackberries to go with the ice cream. Those were the days! This ice cream took me on a very pleasant walk down memory lane. Read more
