We used this for the first time last night and it worked great. The ice cream had a very smooth soft-serve texture...even the dog enjoyed her tablespoonful. I put the leftover ice cream in a plastic container with a snug lid and put it in the freezer. This afternoon it is a little harder, but not too much. The texture is still very smooth and the ice cream is very tasty. It reminds me of the homemade ice cream that we used to make in the old hand-crank wooden ice cream churn. My grandfather would put a folded towel on the top of the churn, one of us kids would sit on it to hold it down because the hook was broken, then he would crank and crank and crank. The media could not be loaded. I wanted to like this so bad but sadly it didn’t work at all. The bucket froze the ingredients too quickly so the mixer paddle froze and wouldn’t rotate. The paddle was frozen into the mixture so I couldn’t even remove it to whisk it by hand. I tried 3 times and after the third time I gave up. The first time I made the mistake of putting the ingredients in the bucket before putting the lid on. So the paddle wouldn’t fit because the mixture was already frozen. The second time I followed the instructions and out the lid on with the paddle first, then poured the liquid in but it still froze to fast. The last time I tried to mix it really fast but it still froze and I had to out it in the sink to let it thaw so I could remove the paddle. I am amazed that some people say it works for them as I gave it 3 tries with no luck. I’m going to return it. Read more
