The box is excellent and does clean easily with Windex and paper towels or a boat cleaner spray - as long as you don’t leave spider goop on it too long, otherwise several go-rounds needed. Please NOTE. That if you want to lock it, you need a lock with a 1/4” shackle. The common ones, that pop to the top in Amazon, are 5/16ths and DO NOT FIT!!! Read more

Great dock box with plenty of room to store all my fishing rods and tackles as well as all my life jackets and a couple of large towables (deflated of course) for the boat, a small cooler and several other items. I saw another review where the owner had problems with rain getting inside their box. We've had a lot of rain this past spring and summer. In the words of Forrest Gump, "We've been through every kind of rain there is...little bitty stingin' rain and big ol' fat rain, rain that flew in sideways and sometimes rain even seemed to come straight up from underneath". Everything has stayed perfectly dry. I think the key is making sure your box is level otherwise water may find its way inside your box through surface tension. I have my dock box mounted on pressure treated 2x4's which are mounted on my dock and perfectly level. This allowed me to drill several holes in the bottom so water can easily drain in case it ever did make its way into the box. I'm very pleased with this product and will more than likely purchase a second one for my dock. Read more

This was a great deal -- it's a good, solid dock box, and the price here with delivery was a bargain. The box is sturdy without being super-heavy. The lid-assist shocks work great, and the whole thing seems reasonably robust. That said, there are some caveats: the principle one being that the lock mechanism will only accept a very small diameter padlock shaft -- one that you could get through with a bolt cutter in a few seconds. Maybe that's not that big a problem, since the locking mechanism could probably be prised off entirely with some ease. I would have been happier with two hasps on the long (72") box I got, and for both of them to be beefier. You're never going to get true security in these, but you want to slow people down. The second issue is that I wish they had a better system for securing the box to the dock than simply drilling holes in the bottom of the box. I lag-bolted mine to the dock, but I would have wish for a system that didn't require holes in the bottoms of the box -- an integrated external flange or something similar. But all in all its a good box, looks good, and should last for quite a while. Read more

Arrived damage free shipped by Amazon, packaged very well. Fiberglass Construction and the lid has a wood core to add strength. Wood core is covered on both sides with fiberglass. The finish is outstanding. I used six 5/16 lag bolts (hot dipped galvanized) to attach it to the pier, also used very large fender washers as shown in the picture. Was able to attach two of the lag bolts to a floor Joyce under the pier. I used 3 1/2 inch lag bolts to attach to the Joyce and 2 inch lag bolts for the other four screws that attached only to the deck boards. The box is very strong and supports two people sitting on it at same time. Read more

Good sized dock box. Quality components. A few minor imperfections in the gel coat but can’t be seen by low flying aircraft. You will have to drill holes on the bottom to secure it to the dock with screws if you don’t want it to blow away on a wicked nor’easter. Highly recommended Read more

Just bought the 6' Medium box. It's 'OK' but I expected much higher quality. For the $1200+ price it is disappointing. Here are the issues I found. First the overall external appearance is fine. Open it up and I found numerous small pitting holes, the finish is rough and uneven. There was a fair amount of 'dust' from construction. The thickness of the box itself is pretty thin, especially the bottom. (I didn't measure it) but I'd be very suspect that it would crack if anything were dropped or tumbled while during storage. The Top was the best looking part and is constructed much heavier than the 'box'. However the top was not installed squarely. It is offset about 1/2 inch. I'd suggest that the manufacture build the box with the same weight/strength as the 'top'. I'd also suggest they provide a means of attaching the box to wherever it is to live (holes in the bottom that are reinforced would be great). Put some weather stripping on the top or the bottom edge to properly seal the box. Last, mount the top squarely. Or you could reduce the price about 50%. Read more
