Taylor of Old Bond Street Natural Shaving Cream Bowl 5 3 Ounce

I've been shaving with a DE razor and quality shave soaps daily for just a few months now. I've been using sampler packs from various websites to try dozens of different creams and shave soaps, but I always seem to gravitate towards TOBS when choosing my shave gear. I put this at the top of my list performance-wise just barely above other great soap-makers like Catie's Bubbles, Barrister & Mann, D.R. Harris, and Geo F. Trumper (all of which also produce really exceptional lathers). It just seems to generate a luxurious lather so effortlessly and takes on water easily in the lather-building process. It's also less expensive than the others. Scent-wise, I'm not a big fan of sandalwood (if you like sandalwood then you'll like the TOBS scent - it's got some backbone) or the Eton college scent, but I find the cedarwood scent intoxicating. It reminds me of the acoustic guitar rooms you find in Guitar Center, or the smell of opening a guitar case, but with a sweet, citrusy twist and a dash of vetiver. It's my favorite scent just behind D.R. Harris' Windsor scent. It's a strong cedar scent, but I think the other top and bottom notes give it a nice, complex profile overall. This unscented version is great if you don't want your shave soap scent to interfere with a nice aftershave or cologne/EDT. I have yet to find a better performing soap than TOBS. Enough said. I learned to wet shave with this. It's a good beginner shave cream. I purchased the ORGANIC UNSCENTED flavor. By accident but turns out I have very sensitive skin so it kind of worked out. It's a little cheaper at West Coast Shaving. It's lasted me over 2 months though. So you get what you pay for. Read more

I really like this! If you want a review comparing shaving creams, please note this is my first old school shaving cream I have bought, so I can't compare it to others. I have only used aerosol shaving gels. This is so much better! I'm female and use this for my legs. I'm on a mission to reduce the amount of ingrown hairs and irritation I get for my sensitive legs. I have changed my whole shaving routine. This is one of the things that is helping. I purchased a shaving brush from Maggard Razors that my friends on Reddit recommended to use with this. I would definitely use a shaving brush with this. For the amount you get, it seems expensive at first compared to aerosol shaving gels. However, it is actually a very good deal. You don't need to use a lot of product with a shaving brush. If you don't use a shaving brush, I can see it running out fast. It is amazing how much product you get from a tiny amount after you built up a good lather from a shaving brush! My legs were so smooth afterwards. I bought it because it is fragrance-free. I am sensitive to some fragrances (very itchy skin), so I like to purchase fragrance-free (better be safe than sorry). No more aerosol shaving gels. I am sticking to this! :) Read more

Bought 2 tubs and plastic seals were missing on both products. Also, some of the product was missing from the container. Very economical, since it just takes a light swipe with the brush to make enough lather for the whole face. Pleasant, subtle scent (without being cloying or chemical). Makes for a great shave in combination with my Merkur safety razor. No nicks, everything smooth. It's a nice affordable luxury to start the day! Read more

Despite having no preservatives or fragrances, I still find this shaving cream to have a harsh aroma. So much so that I start sneezing when applying it. Besides that,it lathers well and shaves well. Read more

I’m a woman and this is the only shaving cream I’ve ever used that didn’t upset my sensitive skin - highly recommend! It’s a different texture than most shaving creams I’ve used before that are more foamy or whipped, but I actually like this a lot better.
