It works fine. Some reviewers have complained that the gauge is not accurate. Mine was not when I received it, but this is not a problem. There is a small adjustment screw on the back. Check an accurate source for temperature, like your phone, and adjust the screw accordingly. I am amused at other reviewers complaint that the gauge does not measure accurately in the sun. Everything heats up in the sun! You, your car, the pavement and temperature gauges. No gauge will be accurate in the sun. Temp gauges should always be placed in all day shade, just like the National Weather Service does. That said, keep in mind this is a $10 item. Don't set your expectations too high. Read more

In line with what some other customers reported, the red needle on mine was not attached so the needle didn't move at all. It was an INCREDIBLY easy fix to pop off the front clear cover and get the needle reattached. It was literally about a 30 second fix. Read more

Terrible Product. Red Guage did not register any temperature, just remained hanging at the bottom of the 5 " circle. Turning the screw in back to adjust temperature moved the middle metal wire, which was NOT attached to the red gauge, although the red gauge contained a grove about the size of the metal wire which looks like it might have been intended to connect to it. However as these were both hinside the sealed plastic container, one would have had to smash into the thermometer to change that. Amazon gave me a refund for the $9+ purchase price as it was broken when I got it. Inexpensive, easy to read. Pro tip - check the temp on it in a known environment (in the house) and turn the brass disc on the rear of the unit to "set" the temperature if the indicator needle seems off. Thermometer seems to be accurate but it needs to be placed in an area where it will not be bumped etc. my cat did just that and the metal holder is a soft aluminum or similar. It bent easily and the plastic thermometer nearly fell. I may have to fashion the metal part from something more durable Read more
