An INSTANT improvement. Does just what it's supposed to do.
So incredibly pleased with this. We have a small kitchen and a proportionately tiny sink area that can be difficult to de-clutter because of it. While we've had a mesh drainer forever on one side of the counter to drip-dry clean dishes, the other side has always been a collection of hand soap bottles/dish soap dispensers that we've, until this point, put on folded paper towels or some other temporary solution because... some reason? I'm not sure why we never committed to something on that side, other than there was maybe a thought that too much organization (ie, extra caddies, containers, racks) would contribute to the clutter accidentally, but I took the plunge to try to fix the situation in a more permanent way. BOY DID IT FIX THE SITUATION. The thing that needs to be mentioned first off is a design choice I find genuinely really competent and thoughtful. The caddy doesn't sit flat on the counter like other ones do, but rather splits itself into kind of three tiers: the 'rack' that the containers and sponges sit upon, the layer underneath that tilts at about a 45 degree angle down towards the sink edge, and then the 'legs' of the caddy that are in actual contact with the countertop. This seems like an obvious thing, but it weirdly isn't -- I've seen plenty of caddies in the past that skip that step for some reason and have more of the bottom of the unit in contact with the damp parts of the sink, which obviously results in bacteria growth/rust/unhygienic conditions. Putting the damp soap dispensers or sponges n the rack results in the runoff going right back into the sink, and since it makes sure that the rack and runoff tray and feet are all separate, you get a lot of airflow to every part of the unit. I tried to take a close picture of the bottom so it's easier to see the little 'guards' they include for the feet of the caddy, which is I assume done for anti-skid and anti-rust reasons and as a result made me feel pretty at ease to put it on my sink corner without damaging my white countertop. Just by the nature of how right angles work, I can't imagine the L shape NOT fitting every sink, and it doesn't add too much height to the point where it might not fit under cabinets or paper towel holders etc. Finish is a really nice, smooth black and looks durable, and after a week of use I'm not seeing any early defects forming or areas of concern by the joints, where things tend to corrode the fastest. Still ship-shape after near-constant use, but I'll check back in in a few months to see how it's holding up. I'm fairly optimistic. Generally I include both pros and cons when I review something, but as much as I tried, I really don't have a single negative thing to say about this. It does exactly what it's supposed to do, it does it in an attractive and unfussy way, it's keeping my sink looking sharp, it's easy to clean, and I'm relieved I have a place to put all my soap containers now. I *so* so so recommend this as an organizational fix, it's legit. Read more
