The powder itself was easy enough to use and apply to my toothbrush. It was really chalky and did not have much of a mint taste to it. It took quit a bit to rinse my mouth out of all of the chalky residue once I completed brushing. I think the main cleaning effect of this powder is that it's powder - you get a bit more mechanical action to it than with soft gel or toothpaste.
