I have a beautiful home music studio that I am quite proud of. I realized that my rolling desk chair, even with its upgraded large silicone wheels, was marring the hardwood floor finish very slightly over time. So, I investigated solutions and found this InfiniGlass Tempered Glass Chair Mat at 55"x46". The price was lower than their competitors for a similar product & size and the reviews were still very good (better than most) so I gave it a try. I am happy I did because it is perfect for my needs. I am 6'4" and 250 lbs. with a big, heavy rolling chair. Wanted to be sure I didn't damage a new hardwood floor - had one of those plexi mats and didn't like it because i tended to sink into the plexiglass if i sat in the same position for a long time. being glass this doesn't do that, plus it provides a nice view of our pretty hardwood floor. chair rolls around great, and with pads under the glass (provided) the glass seems secure. I ordered this with some misgiving given earlier reviews referencing shattering of the glass mat. The delivery person unwisely leaned the package against our garage door. When my wife left for an evening meeting, she did not see the package and while back out of the garage knocked it over and ran over it with with our SUV. I opened the shipping container this morning with great trepidation, expecting the mat to be cracked or worse. It wasn't damaged, and that is a tribute to both the quality of the mat and the security of its packaging. Read more
