I had one of these Tempur-Pedic pillows around 20-years ago and liked it, but switched to down pillows for some reason, and have been through many other types of pillows over the years. I have been waking up with neck pain and headaches for a long time. While the pillows I have feel comfortable when I go to sleep, they are not supportive while I sleep! Trying to save a few bucks, I ordered some other funky off-brand ergo pillow here, and it did not work for me. I ordered the medium Tempur-Pedic neck pillow, and it has done the trick! Neck is supported. No pain, no headaches. It just takes a minute or two when getting ready to sleep to get situated. I expect I will get that figured out. I'm just happy to wake up without my neck in knots! Before purchasing, I read many, many reviews. I saw a number of people complain that this pillow is "small". When you put it next to a standard pillow, yes, it is! But really, how much pillow does your head need? This pillow has plenty of room to lay on your back and turn side to side. I also saw people complaining about not being able to fit a regular pillowcase on it. Why? It has a comfortable washable, removable case. If it doesn't fit your decor, throw it in a closet during the day. Also yes, it is firm. But that is the point. The comfy mushy pillows won't support your neck. I highly recommend this pillow vs. the knockoffs. It keeps your neck more stable and supported while you sleep. Read more

Pillow is indeed too hard on the first day or two, but softens after using it a couple days. To me, it now feels like a normal pillow that is just slightly firm, to a comfortable degree. I bought the size medium correctly following the measurement chart (6 in) but I would go for large next time. The pillow is relatively thin. The thinness makes me want to put my arm under the pillow to add height, as I sleep on my side. There are very few reputable brand options for this shape of pillow. In my opinion, the reviews for this are too negative. This is a valid option worth considering, especially considering most other pillows in this shape are cheap and not from established brands. I will give 5 stars to compensate, but my actual rating would be a 4.5. I would guess the negative reviews are from people upset at the firmness in the first few nights, and not waiting for it to soften up. I will add, the full price is a bit expensive for what this is. At the thirty or so percent off I got it, I consider it a good purchase. But at full price, generic pillows are also a valid option, especially considering you ought to be replacing your pillow every so often. Read more

I am returning this pillow. It is extremely firm—so firm that it caused pain in my earlobe, and I am a side sleeper. In addition, it triggered an allergic reaction. After experiencing symptoms, I did some research and learned that Tempur-Pedic pillows are recommended to be ventilated for several days after opening so that chemical fumes can dissipate. Even though the pillow did not have a noticeable odor, the chemical components in memory foam are still present and can cause allergic reactions, asthma symptoms, nausea, or headaches in some people. The very first night I used this pillow, my allergy symptoms started immediately. This is especially concerning because I do not normally suffer from allergies. For these reasons, this pillow was not suitable for me, and I would not recommend it to side sleepers or to those with sensitivities or allergies. Read more

Although it is backed by Tempur-Pedic’s reputation for high-quality sleep products, I found this pillow to be very uncomfortable if you are a side sleeper. It wakes me up due to pain caused by the harsh firmness that so far has not eased up. I hoped it needed a break-in period, but it is just too firm for me. Granted, I don't like ultra-soft pillows, but for me, this one is just too firm. However, if I sleep on my back, it's fine. You’re paying a premium for the Tempur-Pedic name and memory foam quality, and if you don't mind a hard pillow if you're a side-sleeper, it will probably be good for you. Like most memory foam, it can feel warm during the night if you’re a hot sleeper. Bulkier than standard pillows, so it’s not easy to pack or carry around. Read more

I have tried other brands but I find Tempu-Pedic to be the best. They memory foam lasts for YEARS. Other brands compress and flatten quickly. Read more

While I saw the dimensions and knew the size, getting it and seeing how ridiculously small it really is let alone attempting to sleep on it compared to any normal pillow (and my old contoured pillow) is eye opening. I’m only 4’11” and 95lbs so been looking for a pillow like this with lower contour bumps to fit my very small head, neck, and body. I’ve tried 6 pillows so far and none work (all too high increasing neck pain). I was really hopeful this would be the best fit and bought the small. I have a very small head and this pillow per LxW is way too small for any grown adult head (and I’m child-sized) no matter what position you try to sleep. The contoured heights may be close to what a petite person needs but the total size really needs to scale up so that you can sleep on it and have your head lay in the center of it. Proportions are just off too. Yes it is very firm as other mention, and I’m guessing over time it softens so that’s not even an issue. Better as a travel pillow perhaps as it will easily fit in a carry on bag. So disappointing. Read more
