Initially, I was going to rate this game as 4 star, but then reconsidered because I played it thru 3 times and enjoyed myself! Game play is interesting and the weapons are fun to use and are effective. The romance scenes are nice and the storyline captures your attention. This game isn't the best that I've played but all things considered it merits a 5 star review. Read more

I typically stay away from writing reviews, but I felt compelled to to give my thoughts on this game. I went into this expecting little, but the experience is so much greater than I thought. Yes, this game is not 100% AAA and some of the textures are not up to par with this generation’s offerings, but man oh man, the settings and the combat. First of all, where other games that feature IPs such as Terminator or Aliens fail is because they don’t put any gravity on encounters, save for Alien Resurrection. Most of the other games just have you face off against generic enemies and the entire experience becomes nothing more than a shooting gallery. In this game, encounters with Terminators matter. You better have scrounged for ammo and be ready at any time. When you include licensed music and sound effects directly from the Terminator film, you have something that’s magic, albeit not completely polished. But, the combination of weapons you collect along the way really offer variety in how you combat the machines. But, the real selling point for me are the settings in each level. Do you enjoy searching burned out homes, restaurants and old factories? I know I sure do and because the game does offer an element of stealth, you’ll find that sneaking through these places, hacking loot boxes, picking locks to open doors to new rooms offer up similarities to the Last of Us and other survival horror games from years gone by. It’s easy to see the developer is comprised of people who really love to play games and know what a fan of the Terminator universe would want to see if they played this game. My last piece of advice would be to spring for the DLC as well so you get to experience some content involving Kyle Reese. The bottom line here is that this game isn’t perfect and won’t be for everyone. You need to be the kind of gamer who appreciates the Terminator universe to some degree, appreciates a slow, stealthy approach instead of run and gun and also likes to explore a post nuclear dystopia. If you can overlook the average graphical quality, there is SO MUCH to love about this game. Lots or story content and back stories on the characters offer yet another reason to consider paying premium price. Teyon may not win GOTY for this offering, but I will tell you that they certainly gave me a game that’s been the most pleasant surprise I’ve had this year. I went into it expecting little and came away with a rich experience that I will gladly play through multiple times, from start to finish. Read more
