I don't understand the negative reviews. I was hesitant to order this product based on the reviews, but I know many people just don't have the patience or skills for even the simplest of tasks, so I ordered it anyway. Before installing it I tested the latch mechanism like a hundred times to make sure it was reliable, otherwise I'd send it back unused, but it worked perfectly every time. It has some thick double sided sticky tape on one side, and thin tape on the other side. I figured that they wanted me to compress the thick side a bit so it would slide all the way in before it stuck, so I cleaned the recess where the tape would stick with alcohol, squeezed the thick foam sticky tape as hard as I could with my thumb and first finger, peeled the tapes and it slid right in. Then I press it back and forth towards the adhesive strips for a secure bond and tested the functionality again about 20 times before finally stuffing my charge cords and power adaptors in there. Clever Concept, Needs a More Secure Closure

This hidden armrest storage compartment is a clever way to add extra, easily accessible space in my Tesla. Installation was simple with the included sticky gel lining/tape. It’s easy to keep clean with just a quick microfiber wipe. Unfortunately, the push-to-open closure is a design flaw for my setup. I have a suede tray underneath, and whenever I close the armrest with slight pressure—or even rest my arm on it—the push button gets triggered as it presses against the edge of the tray. This causes the compartment to pop open, spilling the contents into the tray below. While it’s a smart concept and well-made, the closure system makes it impractical for me. A more secure latch or slide design would make this a far better product. Read more
