When you compare to other expensive batteries, I didn’t feel any difference so definitely nice value for money. Also nice quality and packaging. No measurement issue so size is fit perfectly. Its also powerful. Read more

Good batteries

Robert Cox, NYCJuly 11, 2023

These seem like pretty good AA batteries. They certainly work. We really won't know if they have greater longevity vs. other brands for 6 months to a year. But indications are that they are highly rated, high performance batteries. Are these made by the car company Tesla? I have no idea. It seems like this company has their own website, which doesn't appear to be related to anything that the car company does. Unless Elon Musk comes out and publicly proclaims that these are his batteries, I'm going to assume that they are not. I'm also thinking that the name Tesla is not necessarily internationally trademarked to the car company only. Whether they are made by the car company or not, they seem to be very good batteries, and worth a look. Read more

They’re Non-Rechargeable AA Batteries--No More, No Less

Terry SJuly 11, 2023

I’m the world’s most die-hard skeptic when it comes to advertising claims that either: a) make no sense, or b) can’t be proven. These Tesla Alkaline Black+ AA batteries triggered my BS detector in both ways. What do the words “Extra Energy” on the package mean? My first thought was, “‘Extra’ compared to what?” Standard AA alkaline batteries have a capacity of about 2,500 to 3,000 milliamp-hours (mAh). Do these Teslas have a higher capacity? If so, what’s the number? Sadly, the answer remains a mystery, because nowhere on the package or on the batteries did I find any information on their mAh rating. So, even if the claim made sense (it doesn’t), it can’t be proven, at least based on the information available to the consumer. That led to my second thought: Advertising hype (“Extra Energy,” “Black+,” “Future Batteries”) notwithstanding, these Tesla batteries are just batteries. They fit where they’re supposed to fit, and they provide electricity as good as any. Sure, their cool, minimalist black-and-silver design looks neat and exudes a high-tech vibe, but that doesn’t matter because it doesn’t affect their performance. I won’t know if they’ll last any longer than standard alkaline AAs in the devices that I’ll use them in--a Sony DSC-H5 battery-hog digital camera and/or a Nikon B500--because their lifetime will depend on how much I use the cameras, which can vary wildly. My bottom line is that, lacking numbers that might prove otherwise and pending an assessment of whether they last longer than “normal” in my camera(s), these are AA alkaline batteries, no more and no less. If I hadn’t gotten them free via the Amazon Vine program, I’d never have tried them; they cost more than Duracells or Energizers, and anyway I’m gradually switching from non-rechargeable AAs to USB-rechargeable lithium-ions. These Teslas will serve their purpose for as long as they last, but for me they’re a one-and-done. They don’t noticeably differ from other alkaline AAs, so, as a commodity, I rate them at a neutral three stars. And, by the way, in answer to my question to the seller, these Tesla batteries are NOT made by the same company that makes Tesla cars, despite one reviewer’s assertion to the contrary. Read more

Perfect so far. Long term results pending.

Southern MagnateJuly 16, 2023

Even though I don't have sophisticated equipment to test this battery, it started working immediately when I put it in my mouse. Today is the eighth day of using this Tesla battery in my mouse, and it's still working perfectly. I work from home and have two jobs, so I typically use this mouse for about 8 to 10 hours per day, sometimes even more. I always keep it turned on and never switch it off. 11 months ago, I bought a pack of Amazon's Basic alkaline AA batteries. I just replaced the third Amazon battery with this new Tesla battery. On average, the Amazon batteries have lasted 3 months and 20 days, which I consider a good amount of time given the heavy usage. I'm curious to see how long these Tesla batteries will last. If this Tesla battery in my mouse doesn't last at least 3 months and 20 days, I will update my review. I will also be using these Tesla batteries in other devices as soon as needed. Read more

Wasn't sure if this is Tesla the car company (it is)

aTypicalEngineer808July 6, 2023

Summary: I suppose it makes sense that Tesla would bring a consumer battery offering to the market. On the website, it shows they have three variants: alkaline, zinc-carbon and NiMh. This review is for the Black+ line, which actually isn't not on their website yet. Observations: This 4-pack is more expensive than a 4-pack of Duracells (one of many industry leaders). Pros: Name brand. Cons: Unproven, new market offering. Conclusion: At $6 (as compared to $5 for Duracell), rating this 4-stars (cost, new offering). Extra Energy AA Batteries

Explain2025July 8, 2023

This review is for the Tesla Alkaline Batteries AA Black+ that come in a pack of four. They look well built, they promise extra energy, and they can be used in a variety of devices such as television remotes, cameras, toys, keyboards, etc. It is of course too early for me to judge their longevity, but for now they are working fine wherever I place them, so I give them a guarded recommendation. They were designed in the United States and produced in the Czech Republic. I remain hopeful that they will prove to be great batteries. Read more

Does not last

I thought it was the brand like the car. Boy was I wrong! It died in 2 days. Duracell & energizer ftw. Read more

Normal batteries, but look very cool.

Lacey CareyAugust 16, 2023

I mean these are totally a novelty but they are super fun. I drive a Tesla so I just love using these batteries in things like my remote controls and then constantly showing people that I'm powered by Tesla. It's funny. They also seem to work well. Not sure about longevity yet, I've only had them in the remote a few weeks. Read more
