My ciclid grew over this and they still love it. Worth the price. Size is not small but can be cut to half if you desire to feed to small ciclid. I don’t know about the taste coz how will I know. But it’s effective enough to see how my ciclid grew eating just this since they were small. Read more

Purchased this food to try out on my young alligator snapping turtle. Well, She loves it!! I found her as a new born hatchling out in my front yard last summer. As she was only about an inch at that time, I was buying up a lot of baby turtle food from different brands and testing them all out. Now it’s been about 8 to 9 months later and that little baby snappers shell is about 6 inches. So she’s growing quick and I’m always looking for a diverse supply of foods for her. Came across this type here made for fish. But figured since it was jumbo sized sticks I would let her try them out. So I can’t attest to how well they will work on your fish, but my turtle definitely digs them. But I will give a little info on them in the case that it may come in handy to somebody. .... These jumbo sticks are about and inch in length and around a quarter inch thick. So they are nice sized. I haven’t noticed the coloring leaving any effects on the water, but she don’t leave any just sitting in the tank to cause any color bleeding to her water. I did read a few comments on people wanting to know about these floating or sinking. They are advertised as floating sticks, and yes they do float, however, if somebody does want these to be a sinking food, alls you have to do is just break the stick in half and it will sink instantly. So you can use these for top or bottom feeding. I am a little confused as to why they use such a large bottle if they are only gonna have it filled about 3/4 full. Seems like a big waste of plastic. But I guess they aren’t worried about it. Since the food weight itself is labeled on the bottle, I guess it don’t really matter how big they want the bottle to be on our end. Listen, I have been buying Tetra brand pet foods since I was a little kid. They have been around for many years and I know that wether or not my pet likes the type I buy it or not, I know atleast I won’t have to worry about their foods being bad for them. Tetra brand is a safe bet when it comes to pet foods. I’m giving it a 4 star review as I think that the price and the excessive bottle size could use some work, but this is just a personal thing. You may not see this as an issue. It could easily be a 5 star for others. Hey, I know this review may not apply to how great it will work on your predatory fish, but I do hope it helps out in some way for somebody looking to try it out. Read more
