Honestly this is a great deal. I could spend way more on filters thankfully I found these. Really good price. I love the quality to it especially the carbon in it. I’ve noticed it prevents algae growth in my tank and filters out particles in the water. Very good performance. I’ve used tap water with fish solution but it had particles floating on the top cause the solution like made them float, a few hours later I couldn’t see those particle's on top of the water as they got filtered out by the carbon in it I believe. I have not seen any safety concerns that I would like to mention and have not noticed any safety with this specific product very safe to use. My last fish died because it got caught behind its water heater, I’ve never had issues with this filter part. Really no issues in general at all. Very easy to use. Looks like it's old but I looked at other pictures and went to a store and it's the same way. Just bad QA/QC on Tetra part. The white filter is black due to loose charcoal. Some smaller pieces falls out of the slits in the filter. Seems to filter I guess. Read more
