Very good quality, but you have to like velour-style towels
So the people who say they're not absorbent aren't wrong - they just haven't washed them yet. The more you wash them (NOT with fabric softeners), the more the fibers lose their sizing and open up their potential for absorption. They are heavy and thick, but they dry up well enough in a fair-sized load. But what people aren't saying is that they are not a terry weave; they have a velour-type cut on the "popcorning." So, if you hate velour towels, which I traditionally have, you will very likely not like these. I was trying to match a set that got a stain I couldn't get out - a set I loved because they were lightweight and their "popcorn" weave gave me a nice spa-rub-exfoliation-style of drying. These are not that. Nevertheless, they are extremely well made, and it's a nice touch to have the contrasting chevron edging on both ends of the towels - that surprised me. I've gotten used to their weight and thickness, and, as I said, now that I've washed them a few times, I appreciate their quality and I'm happy with them. Read more
