The Breaks (1999) is a classic hood comedy that is hilarious from start to finish. The storyline follows Derek, a white Irish boy who is adopted by a black family in Compton. After upsetting his mother, he is kicked out of the house and given an ultimatum to be able to return. The movie is rated R and runs about an hour and a half. It includes a handful of guest stars in addition to the main cast. I'd recommend this movie to anyone who likes hood comedies like Friday, Don't Be A Menace To Society, etc. It's worth noting that this movie is not easily found in stores, and at the time of this review it is not able to be found on any of the primary streaming platforms. If you want to add this classic to your collection, it's worth buying the DVD while you can. Read more

Hate that I had to use βhip hopβ on the title but I know a certain βdemoβ would appreciate the honesty lol. Anyway, funny flick. Iβm glad I bought it. At least it was a real dvd and not a bootleg like the other movie I bought on Amazon. Good to have in my collection. Read more
