Worth the time to see it

(SPOILER ALERT!) I really liked the first movie so I had to see the sequel. I went in not ecpecting too much, considering all of the harsh reviews this movie has been given. The strength of the first movie was the character development and the well-done suspense. In this one, we don't get much of either. We already know what to expect, and the new people in this movie don't get much screen time before the 'fun' begins again. Yes, it is a stretch to have someone dragged back into the caves when she's still in a hospital room with memory loss. But it's not such a big deal that it will turn you off to this movie. The sherrif is a jerk and he gets what he deserves later on. Perhaps the biggest thing that bothered me is why the rescue team is from the UK. Even the deputy. This is supposed to be in North Carolina, right? You'll get a good amount of violence and horror, but not like the first time around. You'll get some answers to a few things from the first movie as well. Plenty of action, but again, not like the first. The ending was very much like the Wrong Turn sequel ending. Very unexpected but they shouldn't have copied from another sequel. Overall it was a good movie and worth the time to see, especially if you liked the first one. Just don't expect to get the top quality and polish of the first one. This one had a bit of 'straight-to-video' feel to it and if they do make a third, it surely will be straight-to-video. Read more

Excellent Sequel

I was aware of this movie but didn't get around to it until recently. That was my mistake. This is a great second part of this first move and picks up right where the last film ended. Read more

Best sequel to a movie in a long long time...

Smash sequel to one of my all time favorite horror underground movies picks up where the first movie left off, with the only surviving ( ?) friend having been found and is now hospitalized. If you loved the first one this is a great sequel as she races to get back to the caverns with a team of explorers, who are armed to the teeth and wanting to find out what is exactly down below. More great scares, more creepy creatures and some tears as the nightmare becomes a very sad reality. And a surprise ending that could leave you scratching your head! Read more

*****CREEPY****

I loved it. You have to accept these movies for the entertainment value (or not) they offer. I mean come-on, creatures like this from a cave. Remember Trogalitates. These movies are meant to creep you out. That's why we go to them. The theme music is creepy, the story is creepy, the ending is creepy. It lends it's self to a third movie... I'd not let 6 girls and a rescue team disappear, without wanting to find out what happened. There is the original video, now some added footage and the ipod to find. Did Shauna die? And the last girl... and what's up with the old man? And I always wondered where these things went to take a crap., didn't you? Rob Zombie should do the next one, Shiit! Read more
