This hair band is really thick and stays in place really well because of the small silicone grippers on the inside of the headband. I like that it is slightly gathered in the back and slightly wider in the front giving it a little bit more of a sporty look than just the cheaper ones that you can buy at the drugstore. This does have a quick dry sport type fabric, and I found that it keeps my hair back nicely during a workout. It is not too tight, but it stays in place perfectly because of the grippers. I didn’t expect much, but this headband actually stays where you put it. The silicone grips on the inside go all the way around, not just in the front like most that slide right off. The color is more of a blushy cream, a little pinkish, but still looks neutral enough to go with anything. The material is soft, stretchy polyester and it doesn’t squeeze your head. Bigger-head approved, for sure. The front has that pleated, sewn-down look with no bow, and the stitching blends in. It is double-layered too, so it doesn’t feel thin or like it will rip the second you stretch it. It is not structured though, so it only really grips if your hair is flat underneath. If you have got braids, texture, or volume, it will bunch up. And since it is a lighter color, it is not great if you are trying to cover a wig line. It will show through a bit. It is lightweight, breathable, and does not make my head hot. You can wear it for hours and forget it is even on. Works best on smooth hair days, not your "big hair" ones. Read more

Not being into yoga, I use hairbands for a rather unusual purpose. Despite living in Southern California, I don’t have a lot of time to hang out at the beach or otherwise acquire a natural glow. So given my demographics, I bear an unfortunate resemblance to an earthworm except for the occasions where I pamper myself with a spray tan. With my blonde hair, I have to be really careful that the spray doesn’t hit my hair or else it turns a nasty orange color. I had bought some hairbands that attach with Velcro, but they turned out to be small and kept coming apart in the middle of the spray tan, so my spray tan specialist recommended that I get a regular stretchy hairband instead. Enter the lotus band! It came securely packaged with two zip ties securing it to the cardboard. The band is large and has silicone grip dots to hold it in place. The material has a nice silky feel to it. The color is a pretty matte black that looks good with my blonde hair and I especially like the pleated center. Because it’s 20% spandex, it stretches easily enough to cover my (rather large) head, but then is tight enough that I don’t have to worry about slippage (but not so tight that it gives me a headache). Note that this is more of a thin, lightweight, and sleek hairband, not a thick, fuzzy kind of headband, so I don’t know how well it would do with sweat. To my mind, it’s more of a fashion accessory. So after seeing the item in person, I liked it very much but it seemed like a huge waste to use this for tanning when it’s such nice quality (since the band would get spray tan on it and end up being washed a lot, which is also a pain because it doesn’t appear to be machine-washable). So in the end, I am actually using this to keep my hair back in everyday use and getting something cheaper for my tanning sessions. I am giving this a 5 because it did actually inspire me to start wearing my hair back, which is very practical with long hair, especially when I’m cooking. Read more

This is a nice headband, but was just a little too tight to stay in place on my head. The material is soft and silky. Color is accurate to picture. The silicone inlay is great in theory, but if my hair is pulled back, it just slides back. I think if it were a little big bigger, it would stay put better. It does stay better if my hair is down. I have been looking for a good quality headband that stays where it's supposed to for a while now. As soon as I saw this one I knew I had to order it and I'm so glad I did! The headband feels thick, flexible, and solid. My skin is very sensitive as a whole and this headband didn't cause any irritation or discomfort. The inside of the headband is lined with small gripping dots that keep the headband in place. The gripping dots worked perfectly and didn't pull or rip my hair at all. It took a bit of adjusting at first to place the headband in a comfortable position while still keeping all the hair off my face. Once I played with the placement it worked great! I ordered this headband because I use several different skin care products in the evening. Some of the products are thick, greasy, and cause my fine hair to stick to my face which drives me crazy! This headband changed my whole routine for the better and keeps my thin fine hair nice and clean! I do my skincare routine, lay down, and then take the headband off for grease free hair. I won't be wearing this headband out in public, as I don't think it looks flattering on me at all. This isn't the headbands fault per se, as my forehead is large and I just don't look the best with my hair pulled back. The color is plain Black and should go with whatever it is you're wearing if you do wear it out in public. While it's a little pricey for a headband, it really is worth it in my opinion! I've tried so many cheap headbands and was always unhappy with them. I would rather pay a little more for a headband that works as intended, especially since I use it every night.
