If the size is right for you, and you are willing to take care of it properly, this works great in the shower. It is quite sturdy, and the finish is nice. I use a squeegee and microfiber towel, and dry it off after every shower, however, as I think the finish would get rough quite quickly were I to leave it sitting with pools of water. If you don't care about the finish and a grey, teak finish is fine with you, I think that's what you'll get if you don't dry it off. It would also be suitable for use in the bathroom aside from in the shower. . . It's lovely. The legs are adjustable so you can level it easily. Just give them a turn or two. It was simple to put together... I had no trouble at all. I have not have any problem with it staining the tiles in my shower, as some reviewers reported. It's slightly higher than a normal chair - which makes it a couple of inches too tall for me to sit without the edge digging into the back of my thighs. I just prop my feet up on a smaller stool when steaming for long periods of time. It's perfectly comfortable for a quick or even lingering shower - and SO sturdy I feel completely safe. Read more

I got this when I was in my 3rd trimester, since it was getting tiring standing when washing my hair in the shower -- but didn't actually set it up until after I gave birth due to early delivery. It was helpful during the first few weeks of postpartum recovery. After that, I used it more as a storage bench for random shower items. So far the wood has kept up well, it's great quality and it's sturdy when sat on. I don't usually sit on wooden benches while naked, so IDK if I would consider it comfortable, but definitely more comfortable than standing while taking a shower injured. It's not too heavy, but enough weight that you know it's high quality wood. We ended up also using it in the living room when my parents were staying over for a longer term stay, to place luggage on -- so it's versatile. I think it does make the space look a lot nicer wherever you end up placing it. Read more

Wife is disabled and often unsteady standing or walking. She's had several falls and was worried about falling in the shower. Looked at metal and plastic shower seats but this one seemed more "elegant." We weren't wrong. It has a great look and solid feel and finish. Went together easily. Bonus feature: Our little dogs sit perfectly on it for their showers...even if they run outside immediately afterward to roll on a dead bird or squirrel to get their favorite aroma back on them. This Aquateak Shower Bench was the perfect piece for our new walk in shower. There was adequate room in the shower space for it. The bench is attractive and very well built. All assembly hardware is stainless steel. It took all of 10 minutes to assemble. We did apply a coat of teak oil to this bench, although it might have been okay without it for a while. This is our second Aquateak purchase and we were not disappointed. Thank You. We have now had this bench for over 6 months. We are still very happy with our purchase. It looks good, provides a shelf for shower stuff, and provides a useful function in the shower for sitting or putting a foot on. While it is still looking nice, I will apply the second coat of teak oil. Thanks. Read more

I purchased this for my shower and its really solid construction. It's been a couple months since purchasing it and so far its held its own to constant water flow of the shower. During assemble however, I cut myself on one of the machined stainless steel metal bolts that was poorly machined. I contacted the seller about it but didnt hear anything back from them. The bolt had a sharp spike defect on the tool insertion side which cut me when i tried to push the bolt into one of the wood holes with my thumb. Overall, great product. Haven't heard from seller since I contacted them about it. Read more

Just what I needed. Very well made, very sturdy. It’s wide enough to support my 220 lb size getting up and sitting down with space for shampoo, soap, etc on the bench. Also very attractive finish. Read more

This is a great bench - very sturdy, thick teak wood, and butter smooth finish. High quality and attractive looking! Super easy to assemble - even for a middle-aged lady :-) We are using it in our shower. Perfect for my husband with back surgery to sit on while showering and great for me to shave my legs on. The adjustable feet are a key feature as most showers, including mine, slant towards the drain. After lengthening the feet on one side, the bench sits perfectly level and doesn’t wobble at all. Thank you to Shawn who helped me with a special need - very responsive customer service! Read more
