This product actually exceeded my expectations. It was remarkably easy to put together (be sure to follow the instructions of course) even with the tools provided (a tiny little Allen wrench). I kind of wish it was open on the sides so that I could straddle the stool and put my feet on the side-bars, but then if it was designed that way it probably wouldn't be as remarkably sturdy as it is. A solid piece of construction, that looks good in our shower area. Assembly took a bit of work, as the fit was tight and allen screws were very snug to get into place. With aid of some lubricant I was able to fully tighten them and insert the cover plugs. Pleased with the purchase. Read more

I had no problems with assembly. We purchased two and they are sturdy and attractive. Most furniture produced today is cheap material with flashy coverings (i.e., lipstick on a pig). Refreshing to purchase beautiful hardwood with solid fasteners (hardware). The finish and packaging gave me the impression that AquaTeak takes a lot of pride in their products. Highly recommended. We bought three 30” Asia teak bar stools for our kitchen island. They are beautiful, very sturdy, comfortable. We previously purchased an 18” Asia teak shower bench & 22” Kai corner teak shower bench. Both are as durable and elegant looking as they were when we first purchased them 2 years ago. All the Aquateak pieces I bought are 1st: tricky to assemble, 2nd: sturdy when assembled, 3rd: solid in appearance. This piece is no exception. Apply your own 'felt feet' and it scoots well even while you are on it. I'm never disappointed, and I don't think you will be either. Note: if the piece you purchase requires an Allen wrench, be prepared to buy another one. The one supplied, I think, is not made out of tool steel and rounds off very quickly. Assembly note: LOOSELY start ALL screw joints before you tighten it down. Read more
