I was skeptical that a puzzle mat could really work, but this solves the problem of what to do with a 500 or 1000-piece puzzle when table space is at a premium. This mat is surprisingly thin, but very sturdy. It's made of high quality material with a non-slip backing to keep it from sliding around on the table and a top surface that has a very smooth, sleek feel to it. The lines for different sizes and shapes of puzzles are helpful, especially when setting up the outer edge pieces. The trays are handy for gathering and sorting pieces by color. I was able to roll up a 500-piece puzzle and then unroll it with everything still intact. The zipper case is well constructed with a carrying strap that makes it easy to transport. My family loves this puzzle mat. We were not sure which one to purchase and read reviews to help us decide. If you are looking for a great puzzle mat, give this one a try. We keep the box to put the rolled up puzzle in and that works for us. Just finished a 1,000 piece Thomas Kinkade puzzle and it took a week. Every time we took a break, we rolled it up and put it somewhere safe from our 4 puzzle piece stealing cats. The mat stays on the table well because the bottom of the mat has grip. The top has a soft feel, but pieces do not slide around on it without effort. The lines are great to help complete the outside borders too. I use a lint roller on it between puzzles -4 cat household- all the hair gets easily removed and the mat looks brand new! It is big enough to have two people working on 2 different 500 piece puzzles (smaller ones too). The straps are easy to use and the carrying bag is the perfect size. It doesn’t take a lot of effort for one person to use the puzzle mat. This set includes 3 puzzle sorting squares that snap together to make a bowl-like shape. We unsnap one side to pour pieces out or back into the puzzle box. We also used the squares to transfer sections of the puzzle to the proper place on the mat. This is one of the nicer puzzle mats I’ve purchased. It is easy to use, and is made of a rubbery material that holds puzzle pieces securely. One piece of advice—-roll and unroll it slowly. My only complaint is the smell. I think the mat is made from recycled tires, and it reeks like I’m standing in a tire store. The first time I set it up, it gave me a headache within 15 minutes. However, after it was a out for a few days, the smell diminished considerably, and I hardly notice it now. Read more

This is a very large mat and would be perfect to spread out on a kitchen table. I put together a lot of puzzles with my little girl during the beginning of Covid and found that I enjoyed it, but I constantly had a puzzle laid out on my living room table and I was like - where on earth do I put this? I looked at the hard puzzle boards, but felt they would take up too much space. This mat is ideal and the quality is awesome. I love that the bottom is no-slip, it’s lightweight, super easy to roll up when it’s not in use, and I prefer the black background - it makes your puzzle standout.
