It is rare that I get a purse from the first moment I have it that I love. I usually find something I don't like, but live with. But this purse is the exception. I loved it from the minute I pulled it out of the bag and started putting all my stuff in the various convenient compartments. And it's such a cute and stylish bag too. In fact, I loved it so much I ordered a second one in a different print. The zippers are sturdy, the bag is roomy enough for my stuff, and I am excited to travel with this bag because it makes the perfect travel bag. Absolutely adore this purse…and I’m picky about my purses! After looking at this one a long time, I finally purchased it online. I had hesitated because the style is not a favorite of mine because it is deeper and narrow, which to me = difficult to find things inside. However, the number and placement of pockets in this one make it so easy to find whatever I’m looking for that I love it! I have the design that looks like water, which is what caught my eye initially and why I ultimately decided to try it. So glad I did!! The shoulder strap allows me to wear it several ways and it’s great for my summer travels. This is my second Sak Roots coated canvas purse of this exact size and shape. I love the coated canvas because I can wipe it off and the black strap on the one I bought won’t show stains. I often have to set purses on the floor when I’m out, either because of lack of table space or sitting on chairs that aren’t made for purses- i.e. the straps just fall off the back of chairs. The strap is also very wide and sturdy, including its hardware, and is extremely easy to adjust or readjust when wearing across my body. The strap doesn’t dig into my shoulders or back. The shape, depth and stiffness of the purse help keep my items balanced, which makes it more comfortable and stable so it doesn’t swing around when I move or bend over and I can also rest my hand on the top of the purse when I’m just standing around or in line. It fits flat across my body. I like the depth and firm structure of this purse because I can feel around in it to easily find things without emptying my whole purse out which I have to do with deeper and softer purses. Not having to dig keeps my hands from getting beat up. It’s a medium sized purse that holds a lot and is organized because of its pockets also. I carry a wallet, flashlight, calendar, giant cellphone, extra large glasses case, keys with lanyard, glasses cleaner spray, gum, pens, coin purse, small reading glasses in a pouch, and I can fold a baseball cap in there if I don’t mind it getting a little squished. I have also hung an extra glasses case from the heavy square metal piece that connects the strap to the body of the purse. The firm structure holds things in place so I don’t feel items bulging or smacking into my body. I love the psychedelic (but not crazy) flower pattern and colors. I gave up on neutral light colored purses because I can’t get stains out so they’re a waste of money and I can’t be worried about dirty purses, lack of purse hooks in the world etc. I am 100 percent into utilitarian & comfortable purses because I’d rather not carry one but have no choice unless I carry a backpack. This purse will fit upright into my backpack, and it’s a smaller (not mini) backpack. I exchanged the first purse I bought because there was a slight irregularity in the main zipper where it wasn’t flat. The replacement arrived less than 24 hours after I dropped the original at UPS and I was relieved because I’m really stuck on this purse. I wish this EXACT purse was available in more coated canvas designs because even though I’m not THAT into matching, and not AT ALL into sophisticated fashion, I still like options. I ordered the Indigo Spirit Desert for my wife. This is now one of my wife's favorite handbags because it holds all the items she needs! She keeps her readers in one outside pocket, her store lists in another outside pocket, and her phone in the last outside pocket. The room on the inside is great for her too, since she has her wallet, keys, and miscellaneous items that fit perfectly for her needs. She bought a second Indigo Spirit Desert, which is navy, from a retail store. The adjustable strap has worked well for her also, since she is short and doesn't like carrying a long handbag.
