While I would have enjoyed this more with the original Beatrix Potter paintings, the story is just fine on its own. Its got this not-quite-subtle racial backstory to it which is a lot more apparent when you see the children's book with accompanying paintings. Love the story. I can understand why Duchess wouldn't like mouse, no matter how finely minced it is. Read more

Potter is classic and should remain so. She never treats children or the adults who read to them , as anything but intelligent human beings. So grammar and a few things might have changed with time. That becomes the reader's chance to become creative. Read more

Of course I love the stories but its all about the illustrations and there are none. A huge disappointment. Got a sample of the Beatrix Potter Tales, Illustrated collection by MobileReference and it had them and they come out pretty well on the Kindle. Also, what is with the way the author name shows up as Beatrix, 1866-1932 Potter rather than Potter, Beatrix or simply Beatrix Potter. Read more

This pamphlet has no pictures. The story is typed out and then mostly blank pages. The cover has 'high quality' but I beg to differ. Read more
