All Five 9-Pin Ports Work, Weak Magnet

Fantastic 9-pin hub. All USB ports function and connected peripherals register correctly in Windows 11 Home. I have a minor connectivity issue with USB flash drives connected via this hub, but I need to do more testing to determine if this hub is responsible. Keyboards and mice work fine with almost no input delay, and devices charge even faster than on my motherboard's USB ports. The hub is small and low-profile, which makes it excellent for mounting in the back of a case for easier cable management. What is not excellent for mounting in the back of a case is the weak magnet, which barely holds itself against a steel plate. I have mine sitting on top of a drive cage, so the weak magnet is sufficient to hold it in place. Just to answer some potential confusion: This hub definitely provides five 9-pin ports, not four; the 6-pin connector on the back connects to a motherboard header, so the four 9-pin ports on the front + the one on the back are all used for USB ports and RGB components. This tripped me up at first since I'm not used to these hubs. Read more

Good base and works flawlessly.

Great price and works excellent in small form factor. I prefer this one to others that plug into perpendicular to the mounting surface where this one is parrallel to the mounting surface. Connections are tight and hold in place! Read more

don't do it :3dspinningskull:

tldr: buy nzxt usb 2.0 hub 3 this thing is so bad that it made me write my first amazon review after having this account for like 5 or 6 years. utterly useless when plugging in 2 lian li fan controllers and the tryx panorama aio screen. it can't even handle a single fan controller. it should be specified somewhere on the product page that this pos is only for very weak peripherals, but then it probably wouldn't sell very many units... the magnet might as well be non-existent, so forget trying to mount it vertically as it can barely hold its own weight without anything plugged in. I actually didn't know it was possible to make a magnet so pitifully weak. the magnet in the remote for my entry-level ac unit is stronger. oh, and the price is just absurd given all the aforementioned issues plus it's mid-2000s-toy-flip-phone-tier build quality. the ONLY good thing I can say about this pos is that the ports are recessed, unlike on the 95% superior nzxt hub 3 (I hate nzxt) update: the nzxt usb 2.0 hub 3 has all three of the aforementioned things plugged in without a problem and even includes a small sata connector if you need it. just get that over this. it's not like you'd be saving that much money over this hub since it's already hideously overpriced. To anyone who wants to save a few $:

I bought this to save a bit of money compared to the much more expensive name brands. At the time I got this, it was quite cheaper compared to other hubs I’ve purchased in the past. I didn’t like the design (physical layout) compared to other (but pricier!) hubs I’ve bought before. I couldn’t lay the hub flat against my PC case because unlike in other designs, the power connection isn’t just on top of or connected as a SATA power cable coming out of the hub, which would allow for more flexibility, but is instead on the side close to a corner of the hub so it was very awkward to maneuver so that my SATA power cable from my PSU could connect to this. My USB 2.0 SD card reader had to be connected directly to my motherboard because it just wouldn’t work with this hub either. 3/5, it was ugly and awkward to install, but it worked for all my other USB 2.0 devices. Though I would probably not cheap out again on one of these. Read more
