I do a lot of salt water fishing, which is rough on rods. I had two Abu Garcia Vendetta rods lose eyes on me, so I decided to get this pack in order to do the repair myself. Pros: - You get a ton of eyes in a range of sizes. I broke the first eye and the top on my Vendettas and I was able to get both tips from this set. - The tips are ceramic/stainless steel. I repaired the rods almost a year ago, and the tips are still holding up. Granted, I wash my equipment very well with fresh water when I get home. None the less, these tips have withstood the weathering quite well. - It comes with/in an organizer (box). It's convenient having the box so that I can store the eyes without worrying about losing them or some getting broken. Cons: - The tips are small. Fortunately, this set worked for fixing my Vendettas, however, I couldn't use it on my deep sea rods (it didn't fit my Allstar 6ft deep sea rod as it was way too small.) Overall, if you're looking for a good assortment of tips for fixing light tackle, then this product is a safe bet. I will note, this set is the eyes/tips only. If you're planning on doing the repair yourself, you will need to purchase the epoxy and nylon thread. (Some people use braided line to repair their rods, while that's ok, the nylon thread lasts and looks much better.) 5 sets of 7 guides. Good deal. Fixed up a couple of medium action casting rods I got for dirt cheap money. Now I got rods for anyone who wants to fish. There are probably better quality guides somewhere else, but these are not cheap by any measure. I had a revelation when installing these: maybe everyone else knows but: Glue the guide onto the rod with a drop of superglue. then you don't have to try to hold it in position while wrapping the thread. Duh! And then spin the rod, don't try to wrap the thread around the rod, way too hard to do. Like I said maybe everyone else knew these ideas but its never too late to learn. Read more

Used my Dremel to make the eye little bit wider. I tried to force with pliers but ceramic shattered. Tied in four places with tread, glued in four places, took off thread, then added more epoxy. Read more

I can’t speak to the quality of these quite yet but it seems odd to me that the largest size eye only comes with 5, while the 7 other sizes come with 10each, If I’m building rods, the first eye is the most important. Now I have to figure out how to order 5 of the largest size. Annoying Read more

This kit had the size i needed. They broke putting them in dry. Trick that worked was using a lubricant. I used some kind of spray lube had around. Probably anything slick would work. Once in place, clean it. Than tiny dabs of super glue on the joint. Perfection. Read more
