This is my first pair of Thursday boots and I’m pleased so far. The price is good for a real leather boot. They have a strong leather smell and are comfortable immediately, not like a sneaker, but with no pinching and adequate support and cushion. The Java color was a little different looking in person than I expected; I expected more of a dressy shine based on the photos. However, I tried them on with a couple of dresses and they looked great: perfect for autumn. Also, I took advice from the reviews and sized up a half size. That was absolutely the right call. I’ve seen this company pop up several times in my online search for quality leather shoes. If you have only worn pleather or “vegan leather” boots, you have no idea what you’re missing out on. I’ve been wearing these boots regularly ever since I bought them a couple months ago (including days where the temperature is between 80 and 90 degrees F), (including 10+ hour long days at local comic cons). And honestly that is all because of the leather quality. You cannot go wrong with 100% real leather, and this stuff is the real deal. They are so comfortable in every sense of the word, I don’t even need insoles. I will say, they did take a couple weeks to break in, but now that they have, they fit me like a glove. So full story, I bought these originally through Amazon, a half size smaller than my normal shoe size because they were available $70 cheaper used. Unsurprisingly they were too small, so I returned them and bought the next size up directly from their website. But I’m leaving this review because other people have raised concerns about the quality being different. It’s not. End of story. The quality is literally identical. And that quality is superb. The reason I gave the 8.5 a try is because I have wide feet. My shoe size can be anywhere between a women’s US 8 and 9.5, with 9 being the common winner. But that leads me to my next point which is the toe box. I’ve seen other reviews complain about the toe box being too narrow and tight. But for ME, with my wide feet, having to constantly go UP a size and look like I’m wearing clown shoes sometimes, this was AWESOME. So even though they’re not labeled as wide, they almost feel like they are meant for people with slightly wider feet! And again with the leather, the leather will naturally conform to your foot over time, so these were able to stretch a little, making my feet very happy. I held off leaving this review for as long as I could because I really tried to critique them as hard as I could (I have high expectations for my clothes because I am a seamstress). I have nothing negative to say. Other than the breaking in period sucked… the style, durability, everything is great. No trouble with the zipper. I’ve always wanted a pair of combat boots but was afraid that I wouldn’t be able to pair it with many outfits. However, I was surprised at how versatile this boots are. They are simple but make a statement at the same time! When you open the box, you can immediately see and feel the quality of these boots. Also I have worn them consistently since I got them and they were immediately comfortable. It made me happy to realize that these boots do not need to be broken in and are not tight on the top. I find these to be really comfortable making me reach for them a lot. I have black one it is made so well and comfy. I bought that black one from their website. This time i wanted white boots and get it faster, but i didn't expect boots have defects on them. It looks stylish, but too rough for your feet. I put them on and made 2 steps then take them off. Material is pure leather, but too hard like rock. These are very nice looking boots, well made. But they are not for wide feet at all. I sized up twice and decided to trust they would break in based on reviews. They are still quite painful on the sides of my toes. I’m past the return window and while they feel good around my ankles, the toe area is not getting better. I do not suggest these for wide feet. Purchased a half size up since I wear thick socks in the winter. My feet are a generally a little wider by the ball of my foot and these boots fit well. Nice quality and they look great - not too heavy but still well made. Read more
Perfect fresh out of the box I added my art support insoles plenty of room for them and spent most of the day in a warm comfortable pair of boots. Read more
