Very sturdy and easy to clean. It doesn’t absorb odors and feels very hygienic. Great quality and perfect for everyday use. Read more
I was pretty excited to receive this cutting board at first. After a few uses, it began to quickly show issues with deep scratches on the "titanium" side. The reverse side of the board seems to be made of standard nylon, which actually held up better and had fewer deep scratches over time. The grinding bumps work very well on carrots, garlic, onion and other produce that you want to grind up. It even works well to break up leafy herbs like parsley and oregano. The knife sharpener is okay and works on smaller steak knives, but don't waste your time trying to use this on any larger knives. The angle of the sharpener isn't wide enough for that. I couldn't sharpen a mid-grade santoku knife with it. The board cleans up easily with a little bit of soap and water and, after several uses, chopping stinky veggies, there were no lingering odors. I do appreciate the juice groove around the outside edge of the plain side, I just wish it was deeper. Read more

PRE-USE EVALUATION AND THOUGHTS: I'm really funny about cutting boards. Dead-serious funny. I always use separate boards for raw meats and other foods, and since my first dishwasher yea long ago that had one, I wash cutting boards on the sanitize cycle. Never had a problem. Although some people like to use wood boards, I'm too hinky for that (although I've been tempted by some lovely ones!). I hear that bamboo is becoming an alternative to plastic as well. Other folks are fine with hand washing their boards, sometimes followed by other measures like bleach or special cleaners. I suppose there will always be debate about type of "ideal" material and care. I don't plan to change my cleaning processes, but I'd gotten tired of my plastic-y and acrylic boards developing cut marks so quickly, and after hearing all the buzz about titanium boards, I figured I owed it to myself to give this Tibo two-sided board a try, if only to see if it is worth bigger bucks to invest in a fully titanium board. Even with an evaluation-only goal in mind, though, perhaps I should have passed on this cutting board as soon as I read "cleans with a rinse." What? There were even pictures demonstrating that. I found myself literally rolling my eyes and thought,"Maybe others are willing to take the risk, but I'm not. There will be at least soap involved!" And what the heck is "wheat straw PP" for the non-titanium side? was my next thought. The answer from Rufus told me it's basically wheat straw-embedded plastic, and a little more Googling told me more -- including certain wheat straw products being banned in Europe (something like, over concerns about leeching of microplastics and chemicals), and on the other side of the spectrum, a myriad of references for wheat straw PP items that are claimed to be perfectly fine to go in the dishwasher. Why all those items being dishwasher safe, and not this Tibo cutting board? Never found a clear answer to that. And no study results or other info is cited on the product page itself. My eyes started crossing after a while from all the reading. So I decided it was best to stop asking questions and get to evaluating (haha), using the directions on the product page and on the box as my guides, and with as open a mind as this old dog can generate. You never know, I told myself, you might learn something new. Or at least find this Tibo cutting board as good as the product page makes it sound! EVALUATION TO DATE: It didn't take a close inspection to spot places on this cutting board where food particles can hide no matter how careful I am with cleaning. A deal breaker for me, since the board can't be sanitized in my dishwasher. After using it (both sides), I AM impressed with titanium as a cutting board surface, but not exactly over the moon about what's offered on the other side, regardless of what it's made of. It did seem to be easy on my knife, and didn't apparently scratch or change after cutting. I'm not a "garlic grinder" <smile">, but tried a lemon and the result was ... okay. Not as good a result as my microplane -- more like pre-macerated lemon peel than lemon zest. But I didn't expect more than that, AND the board turned out to be better at grinding than I had expected. Though I have doubts about the longevity of those little plastic cutting nubs -- I owned a spice and herb grinder with nubs just like these, and it became useless after several grinding jobs. (I can't give it an A+ on not retaining stains and odors either, but at least I'll only have to deal with a faint lemon smell until I figure out how to de-scent that side, not wake up to eau de garlic with my morning coffee.) And yes, both sides got a good scrubbing WITH SOAP AND HOT WATER. So ... It's also true that both sides held up well through that first experience, and yes, neither side seemed rough on my knives. And oh, I tried the knife sharpener on one of my older knives that had gotten dull, and it only refreshed the edge a bit. No more or less than I expected. CONCLUSION TO DATE: Both work, but to me, both "added value" features just feel gimmicky. The main outcome for me is learning that a dishwasher-safe titanium board is, in fact, worth pursuing. Also, even with restricting raw meats, poultry, etc., to the titanium side, which is what the directions seem to indicate, there are places on this cutting board where food particles can hide. So between that, and the bother of having to clean it by hand every time it's used, after a few more evaluation uses (to give a fair trial of how well the board and "accessory features" hold up over a period of time), I'll probably relegate this board to occasional, NON-raw-meat use for both sides. If my opinion changes or I have new observations on anything, I'll gladly return with an update. Read more
