Until switching to this detergent, my washer, some garments and towels frequently had a musty smell. It was particularly concerning since it is a new LG machine. Using the "Sanitary" setting was helpful but not 100%. This detergent washes perfectly and no more odor from the machine. As the machine is very good at conserving water with smaller loads, I have been experimenting with how little detergent is actually needed. I am at 1 tablespoon and have not yet found the lower limit. That is enough to wash a bath towel, three hand towels, several light shirts, and a few days of socks and underwear. I have been purchasing this type of detergent for almost 6 years. I am a nurse, and I like to make sure that when I wash my scrubs and my work clothes, that I am makings sure I am getting all of the fluids off my scrubs that I might not see, and this detergent works amazing for that. I live in a rural area, so I like I am able to buy a large bottle and not have to go to the store at all.
