Much nicer than I anticipated.
My late father did stain glass as a hobby and I have quite a few of the lamps he handmade. I really though this would be obviously mass produced but I have a large ceiling mounted dragonfly lamp my father made and though this would be kind of cool on the library table behind my couch to match it if it was halfway decent. When I first opened the box I was impressed with how well it was packaged. the styrofoam was perfectly shaped to hold the form of the shade and keep it protected. I was actually worried I would damage the shade getting it out as the fit was so tight. But I took my time and worked it out with no harm to the shade. I did have to clean up a lot of styrofoam from my floor after but that's a small price to pay as this lamp is awesome. It truly looks like a one of a kind hand made piece. The lamp base is very solid and detailed. The finish on the shade and the base matches perfectly and is what I would describe as a rich deep bronze color. The shade is quite intricate and well formed and I can't imagine a way to produce it other than hand soldering it. It does say hand made in the listing but I didn't really believe that as the price point is so low. when lit the it's very beautiful and I was proud to display it in the same room as my fathers handmade shade. I was planning on replacing the included bulb as I thought the LED bulb would be too bright or harsh but I was wrong. It's a nice warm light and it's a nice warm light and the effect of the piece when lit is quite dramatic. I can't say enough how impressed I am with this lamp. I would expect a lamp of this quality to cost 4-5 times as much. Read more
